I purchased the GT-BE98-PRO to replace the GT-AXE 16000 a year ago.
The 16000 stopped communicating with my ISPs DHCP and DNS services. There was some sort of issue with the DHCP query frequency and DDNS. I spent over 100 hours on the phone, and many emails with ASUS. They sent new hardware, I purchased a new 16000. None of that worked. The end result, for my ISP I need to have the DHCP query frequency set to Aggressive, the 16000 seems to not be fast enough or capable of maintaining this.
Support is kind of joke, everyone is a supervisor, and no one really knows how to do any real troubleshooting, every person I spoke to or emailed had me installing multiple versions of firmware and factory resets. None of them take notes and none of the read the notes from the prior person. Asus seems to feel they have a flawless product and really dumb customers. Stall until the customer gives up. Asus does not care about it's customer base, especially those in the USA. All of it is the definition of insanity.
When I purchased the GT-BE98-PRO all the issues disappeared, or so I thought. Last night around 11pm, the exact same issues appeared as it did with the 16000 and the 98 pro.
I spent 4 hours rebuilding to get it back working, I am not confident it won't happen again.
I will say the 98 pro is much faster the 16000 and there is some different error messaging, which is a huge help in the guessing game of fixes.
I've had to keep DDNS turned off because of WiFI instability. All WiFi clients will lose their connection if this is enabled. Oddly Asus defaults to giving you a cert even if it is turned off. This is a common theme with Asus, things are turned off but somehow they operate in the capacity as if they are on.
During one of my factory resets, I configured the device with all my settings, but WiFi clients stated that there was no internet. My PC though, the one I was using to configure the device, was plugged into the device, was able to connect to the internet. I checked it IP Configuration and it reported like it was connected directed to the Modem and not the 98 pro. I tried several factory resets one of which had a different default IP address. Typically the 98 pro's have a default IP Address of 192.168.50.1, one of the resets had a default address of 192.168.0.1. There are no other ASUS devices on my network, the network is as vanilla as you can get.
The way I resolved this, the issue is not solved, I only have the device working, I feel this will continue to happen, I do not know what triggers this. I unplugged the modem. Factory reset the 98 pro, configured it to my liking, then plugged in the modem. Oddly the 98 pro didn't recognize the modem. There was a message on the Dashboard about the ISPs DHCP service not being recognized. Which continues to happen each time the 98 pro is rebooted and fully booted up before the modem. After rebooting the modem the 98 pro recognized the WAN. The Wifi clients are not dropping, but I believe this is because DDNS is disabled.
Things I tried. Factory Resets, Firmware back-revs and upgrades, switching the WAN between the 2.5 g and 10 g ports. Enabling DNS security, Turning AIProtection on and off and on, dissecting and reading the logs. A note to those using the whitelist in the AIProtection, for me, it doesn't seem to work, no matter what sites I want allowed, ASUS still blocks them. They seem to have a lot of control on what people can and cannot do on the internet.
My paranoia feels that someone is trying to hack into the device with some sort of payload that overwhelms the device and messes up all the ports and disables the typical WAN and WiFi functionality. My logic is, ASUS is aware of these issues, and it is a problem with their cloud services, their need to totally control everyone, and they don't know how to fix the issue.
At the time of writing this, I am using Firmware Version 3.0.0.6.102_37038. This has happened on every version. It is not unique to one version.
I am wondering if others have purchased a non-china firewall appliance and turned the Asus device into just an Access Point? If so, which ones are you using?

Perhaps some more info could help us see a problem. Such as ISP and type of service, other networking devices which are not ASUS, and do you normally access your network from remote sites?
Have you tried running your system for an extended period with default settings except changes for certain items, such as IPv6?
Have you been checking available memory on the router?
Is your Router crashing, or exhibiting other signs you need to reset the router? I used to see the DHCP errors when I was originally not allowed to connect the WAN to the 10G WAN port. The first firmware update fixed that for me, but not everyone.
Do you have the 2.5 or 10 WAN port selected or do you allow discovery?
Have you submitted a feedback report?

I am 100% done talking with Asus, as stated in my original post I have done this excessively, no I will not be asking for their help anymore.
My ISP does not matter, nor does the type of service. These issues have been reported by many others, it is ISP and bandwidth agnostic. I will say I have a ridiculous amount of upload and download bandwidth.
What is the point of having a $800 router with tons of advertised features which you are not allowed to use?
As stated in my original post I've tried both the 2.5 g and 10 g ports. I will add that I have contacted my ISP and they do not care which port I use. The ISP is not blocking ports or access. The ISP will not allow for a static IP address, unless it is for a business, which is probably what is wrong with ASUS's DDNS, as it is probably not really DDNS. This is probably why it drops WiFi clients every 24 hours after activation. Yes, my ISP updates IP Addresses every 24 hours, it may not change it, but the lease is renewed.

A feedback report does not need any direct contact. I just finished sending one about this same router, about a problem that seemed to start with the 37038 firmware update. When the analysis was done, I was given 2 files and advised to use them during any email contact situations.
I believe your ISP can be involved with different situations; it is listed in the router's logs. It was not my ISP blocking a port, it was some type of mismatch between the 10 G WAN port. The 2.5 G WAN worked normally, and I use Spectrum. My WAN address stays the same, for long periods but it is not static.
I have never used the DDNS section, and it is defaulted to off. I don't travel, so I have no need to access my system from a remote location.
I will continue to watch this thread, so if you wanted to do any more troubleshooting, let us know.
Take care

I logged into an AXE11000 providing Frontier Fiber service at out home a few cities away from where we primarily stay. The query frequency is set to Aggressive. The other two options appear to be Continuous and Normal. As my in-laws live there and it is daytime I do not want to tinker with the setting and have their service go down without warning, but my tendency has been to choose Normal. I vaguely recall slow Internet service might have been the result, which made me change back to Aggressive, but it's been a long time since I've adjusted that setting so I may not remember or the results may be different now. Have you tried Normal and what happened if changed to that?

Where I am at, I need to have mine set to Continuous.

I do use my GT-BE98 Pro as an Access Point with AiMesh. But I do use a Chinese router as primary getting IP Passthrough from an AT&T BGW320-500. Actually I noticed at least a couple of firmware updates to it after which I was stuck getting a private IP, so I set it manually as I have not ever seen the WAN IP change.
