ROG GT-BE98 Pro (Hardware v2.0)
Current f/w: 3.0.0.6.102_34491
Can someone possibly help me out with this problem I’ve been encountering. Whenever I hard reboot this router, upon completion I get a red light on the LED panel for “no internet detected.” Additionally I would power cycle the modem to see if the issue resolves but unfortunately it does not. I have to manually power on and off the router a few times before the internet is finally restored/connected and the red light disappears.
I have change the Ethernet cable from modem to router and this particular issue still randomly persists.
I have changed the “DHCP query frequency “ from aggressive to normal - it that didn’t fix it either. The only other setting modification I made is adding paid a Ad Guard DNS servers instead of default ISP one.
Is this a known issue/bug with this router or an isolated problem with the own I own. Thank you in advance.

I originally had that problem, with both of my units, if I used the 10 GB WAN port. If I switched to the 2.5 GB WAN, it worked normally.
Since you say you have the latest firmware version, I would expect that not to be happening. When you upgrade firmware, there will normally be guidance as to needing to reset the router so as to clear out any prior settings.
When mine was having problems, I usually had to do something to interrupt the process to make it start over and it would then find the WAN port and connect.
Even on the new firmware, it does take a little time for the WAN to catch and connect.
You might want to describe your configuration regarding your ISP and type of service.

I am using the 10GB WAN port. I will try the 2.5 Gig port instead to see if that makes a difference. Thank you for your suggestion.
My ISP is Spectrum (1Gig down/40 Mbps up.) Modem connected to ROG router directly with CAT8 Ethernet cable.

I also have Spectrum 500 Mbps down and 40 Mbps up. I do have the option to upgrade to 1 Gbps, symmetrical, since they installed new cables in my area.
I am using CAT 6a Ethernet, I did not even know CAT 8 had been available.
What I used to do when trying the 10 GB port was to disconnect the WAN cable while it was searching, for a couple of seconds, and plug it back in.
The router has an option to do auto WAN configuration, or you can tell it which one to use, on the Dual WAN page.

I found the LEDs unreliable, but I have the older version for sure. Does the Internet actually go down?

Yes. All my devices would connect to the WiFi band(s) but the internet does not work until the red light goes away. Sometimes that takes a min but most often its a few minutes or not at all - requiring another reboot.

The only difference between your system and mine is that mine went through an earlier Beta firmware update. That update also allowed my systems to connect, but I would not think just running that would be involved if the router had been reset after doing the latest firmware update.
I don't suppose doing a manual update using the latest firmware would make any difference.

It probably wouldn't hurt to flash the beta and then immediately flash the latest release, just in case the fix was in the beta but accidentally not included in the latest...

It may help to turn off Dual WAN if it is enabled...
This may be a communication issue between the router and modem, or service side related. Which modem model please? (ISP provided prior and I'm afraid I had forgotten).

Dual WAN was already disabled. One change I made was to switch the “WAN auto detection “ setting to the 10GB WAN port for the Primary WAN option instead.
I’m using a Spectrum provided Technicolor Docsis 3.1 modem for gig service.
