GT-AXE11000 – Stuck in Reboot Loop After WPS Reset

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out to see if anyone has experienced this issue or can offer advice.

I have an ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 router, which I purchased in the United States. Recently, I tried to perform a factory reset using the WPS button during power-on, and since then, the router has been stuck in a constant reboot loop. It doesn’t fully power on or allow access to the admin page.

I’ve attempted:

  • Manual reset using the reset button
  • Recovery mode access
  • Connecting via Ethernet for firmware restoration (no luck)

I also contacted ASUS technical support, but they informed me they couldn’t assist further because the device is out of warranty.

If anyone has experienced this issue or has any suggestions — recovery tricks, firmware flashing options, or other solutions — I would really appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance!

Just to verify, to use the WPS button, you power down the router.  Then push and hold the WPS button.  Turn on the router and hold the WPS button until the power light goes off, which takes a while.

After that, reboot the router to complete the process.

That process should work, even now.  But have you used a version of firmware not from ASUS?

@Saltgrass @Raslan96 That is the official instructions from ASUS on how to hard/factory reset following "Method 2".

I find the power LED turns off soon after powering ON while WPS being held, so soon the factory reset doesn't complete.  I was suggest getting a clock with second hand to watch and wait at least 30 seconds, switch OFF and release the WPS button simultaneously...
