GT-AXE11000 router adding Aimesh node question

Here's my setup. I have the GT-AXE11000 in access point mode. It's connected to the modem/router via ethernet cable. Can I add another Asus router in Aimesh node while the GT-AXE11000 is in access point mode or does it have to be in router mode to add Aimesh nodes? Has anybody tried this?

Please correct if I am wrong, Unless one of your AXE 11000 as main router (which I am not sure why you are not connected AXE11000 to Modem). adding another AXE11000 into your network still consider AP mode.

Maybe this will help. I don't know for sure but it appears it should act as a Mesh node so other requirements should be the same if you were using a normal device as a Mesh node.
