gt-ax11000 New firmware today

automan3
Level 7
My router states there is new firmware available. But when I try to install via router GUI it cannot download anything. Router reboots. Anyone managed to update?

UPDATE,

Update was not working in router GUI, nor was it visible available at asus webpage, under bios/firmware, but if i changed operating system from win10 to something else, there suddenly the update appeared. Strange ..
Just updated, and havent verified any bug fixes yet on VPN fusion, but at least internet seems to work after updating 🙂

Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384_9165
- Release Note -

- Fixed the VPN fusion exception list related bugs.
- Modified the Telnet/SSH setting UI message.
- Added printer enable/disable switch.
- Added port setting option in the remote log server setting.
- Fixed login bugs.
- Support router certificate export.
After import the certificate to the computer you will not see the warning message when login with https.

Thanks for posting! Im struggling with if I want to test this beta or not. Of course, I want to help out - but on the other hand, I am working from home nowadays, and can NOT risk anything going wrong with my router. Anyone else here who tested this beta build 9461?

At the risk of sounding paranoid, how do we know you are an Asus developer/employee, seems odd to randomly post betas here via a random asuswebstorage link. Why not post it under asus.com as a ZIP like normal firmwares?

I agree how do we know that you are actually an official Asus rep? *Seems that the admin would post this as an acknowledged problem or as a sticky announcing the beta. *I just went back to previous version until they can get vpn fusion working again with an update. *This router has been riddled with problems. *Always trusted Asus as a brand but will never buy an Asus product again. *Asus has really gone down hill. All their ROG routers have had serious issues and they are supposed to be the best Asus has. Not to mention paying a premium for a product that is always broken. *Fix the problem and then break something else. *New Normal for Asus I gues!

I confirm on AX-11000 and latest official firmware the VPN Fusion function has serious problems. Everything works for me until I restart the router. At that point, the only way to get everything working is to delete the VPN profile and possibly recreate it. It is unacceptable .I would also like to try the beta firmware, but that post has no credibility.

Someone on the SNBForums took the plunge with the beta firmware if ya'll want to see their thoughts.

Has anyone been able to confirm if it’s a legit Beta or a version someone hacked? Over on other forum is says its working. Had some issue with AIProtect though.

I just acquired a GT-AC5300 to add to my mesh. Any experience on how vpn fusion works on that router or on the RT-AC5300? If no issues then I can change my main AIMesh for one of those routers. I * with the AX-1100.

Hi All, I have tried all versions which are available on the Asus support portal except the beta version mentioned above and vpn fusion it didn't work in any of them after the reboot. I have to make the vpn fusion option to disable and enable to get the Internet working. Some times the vpn will show the last activated profile dns with first profile ip. It was completely a mess. Then I thought of trying the above beta version
3.0.0.4.384_9461 which fixed all my problems(flashed directly on top of 3.0.0.4.384_9165) Internet is stable after the multiple restart with vpn fusion enabled and also am not seeing any WiFi drops or coverage issues or GUI crash in during/after the upgrade. I am running this firmware for the last two days now and no issues. If anybody want to check any specific setting let me know I can test it and confirm on this page.

I have configured the express vpn`s open vpn profile on the fusion for testing and I have not connected this device as ai mesh. This is FYI.

Kindly try this with your on risk.. 🙂

So after tearing my hair out over this supposedly top of the line router in total desperation I gave the beta firmware a go - it was actually first posted by a user who is an admin over on the Chinese Asus52.com site - in my mind this added some credibility.

A couple of days in and the 2.4Ghz network is holding up and I'm having no issues with no reboots required. I will feel a whole lot better though if Asus do a proper legit release!

Any more issues and the stupid thing is going back for the TP Link version - I still have 8 days left on my Amazon return!

I run 2 AX11000 routers and 2 AC5300 routers on my network, all AiMesh. When I first flashed this firmware to my main AX11000 I could not access the UI or login to the router at all. I couldn't access them on the iOS app either. It completely broke my entire AiMesh network. I had to first unplug all of them, and 1 by 1 go back and factory hard reset each router, then flash the new firmware, then set them back up as a new network. I had to repair all AiMesh nodes (after factory reset) and rebuild my entire network. Everything works fine now, but that was very frustrating.

The firmware is working great now, it just initially caused some issue with my AiMesh. I'm running it on my two AX11000 routers now in AiMesh with my AC5300 routers and it's been great.
