I wonder if these expensive routers with all of their features and functions are built with not enough CPU power and not enough RAM to handle the recourses they require.

I've personally never seen my GT-AC5300 go above 55-60% of memory utilization, and all 4 CPU cores generally stay under 10% unless I'm downloading a large file from the WAN at 500mbps+. That's with 5 AiMesh nodes connected and 55 or so devices, at least half of those devices are on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Wifi bands (mostly IoT).

I've definitely encountered issues with the web admin UI hanging after login...only way to resolve is to power cycle everything, and bring the AiMesh nodes up in a staggered fashion (and not powering them all on at once). The problem seems to be triggered by certain settings being enabled (i.e. having Guest networks), as well as having AiMesh nodes combined with issues with the network mapping function. Been a problem in all of the 386.xx firmware versions.

does anyone have issues with the UI coming up.
Mine seems to be hung when i log in

login page comes up but nothing after that

I've had this issue with my GT-AC5300 since the 386 firmware was released. It's problematic because it requires the router be power cycled and WAN cable disconnected when it happens, or the UI doesn't come back up. I have an AiMesh network, four 68U nodes and 1 86U running as AiMesh nodes.

Router reboots/settings updates seem to trigger the UI hang, I have not figured out the root cause and it's not always easy to reproduce. It happens fairly regularly though, requiring all AiMesh nodes to be power cycled as well as the GT-AC5300, which I use as my main AiMesh router.

Is there a solution or has ASUS identified or acknowledged this issue? The problem is that this particular router doesn't seem to be in widespread use and I'm not sure many have reported this problem to ASUS. I'm on the 3.0.0.4.386_42643-g16dc577 stock firmware but am considering running the beta on there to find out if it makes a difference.

What is the read speed of the drive connected to the GT-AC5300, 5GHz?
on this software

Unfortunately, the error has still not been removed and the transfer from the HDD is 30 MB / s with the previous software was 80 MB / s.
With the current software, I can see that only one processor core is working and this may be the reason.

However, the recording to the HDD is 50 MB / s and 3 processor cores are working.

Have you tried the beta 9.0.0.4_386_43576-g649d261

It fixed some issues for me.
