Can I connect a ASUS AXE6600 in ap mode to a AX6600 router to use 6ghz?

Hi all,

I currently use 2 AX6600 WiFi 6 units for my home system. The current setup is:

isp modem > AX6600(router mode) > switch > AX6600 (ap mode w/computer wired)

Im looking to take advantage of the 6ghz band with only a quest 3 connecting to it via air link over WiFi.  I’m wondering if the AXE6600 (or any 6e ap)will be able to connect to the switch that is receiving internet from the WiFi 6 router and still be able to take advantage of WiFi 6e? Or does the main router need to be pushing 6e in order for the ap’s to be able to as well?

It should work as a mesh node though "inverting" higher spec router as node vs primary router has been shown buggy at times as an AiMesh.  This can even cause issues if your primary router is WiFi 7 and node is 6E.  The workaround I have employed to the latter case has been to change the node to Access Point mode and enabling WiFi Agile MultiBand to improve client movement among them...

EDIT-  This would break AiMesh to the access point but should definitely enable 6E at the endpoint as desired.
