Good Morning,

I am having issues with my new BE98 Pro, It is having issues with connecting to my provider on the 10 GB WAN and 2.5 GB WAN ports. I am seeing this is a common issue have had the router less then 30 days should i return it or keep it? Other issues going on reboots cause the network not to connect and right now my whole network is down had to go out the front door and not my garage this morning. Been six years since i went out the front door. DCHP error message pops up has issues connecting etc.

Let the record show i have had nothing but issues with this router is the frimware that bad?

The problem with the 10 GB WAN port is known.  The Beta or early release firmware has taken care of this.

I never had any problems with the 2.5 GB WAN port, it connects immediately.  I am using a copper ISP provider, so if you have Fiber, what you see may be a little different.

Make sure you have enabled the IPv6 since it is not enabled by default.

If you have specific continuing problems, address them separately and maybe we can help.

I'm very puzzled because my BE98 Pro was running Dual WAN load balancing for about 3 weeks on that 11/30 BIOS which had the 10 Gb port matched with the AT&T gateway's 5 Gb port, and 2.5 Gb WAN to cable modem's 2.5 G output.  While I don't doubt you I can't help but wonder why I was able to get both ports to work, simultaneously at that.

OP-  Is this fiber or cable modem service?  Do you use the ASUS app or Web GUI?

Welcome to the land of ZERO firmware updates. I am so disappointed in Asus. I bought the BE98 Pro and 6 months of ZERO updates, not even a beta. I cant even use my phone with the router half the time. Come on Asus, this is your top of the line router and you have not even fixed day one bugs from last YEARS November.

I understand new products can be buggy, thats why you PUT OUT FIRMWARE UPDATES AND DONT SCREW OVER YOUR CUSTOMERS WHO SPEND $800 ON A ROUTER.

Exactly! The cheaper non-pro version got it's 4th firmware update today! I'm losing faith in the ROG brand.

I returned it, I have an GT AXE 16000, I bought the wifi 7 because i wanted to have the latest. Go figure less then 30 days it bricked and had issues. The main issue was the dropping on the wifi and the ports were having issues as well. Merlin was not even ready. Asus needs to do better. Ill wait until there is a little time for firmware to get to the BE98

The BE98 is international, such as the EU.  If you meant to say the BE98 Pro, then I understand.

I have now used two of the 98 Pros and they both performed pretty much as expected.  I do agree, waiting almost 5 months for some problems to be fixed is a little excessive.   But I, as some others do, believe something more involved in going on.  Possibly coming acceptance of certain standards, which are already written into the next public firmware upgrade.

I have a feeling we'll see a Pro firmware update within 2-4 weeks....keeping fingers crossed!

I have used Asus routers top of the line since ROG started coming out. This had to have been the worst release in years.
