Can anyone help me understand why the 96U woud not be MLO capable when trying to create a MLO network?

It should definitely support MLO, but I'm not sure how it deals with wireless backhaul setup.  I saw with 2 BE98 Pros it also shows Nonsupported - MLO BUT the box is checked.

It is wired backhaul showing 10G connection (10g port to 10g port)...

Have you removed information in your attachment or perhaps you do not have MLO configured?

This is what happens when trying to turn it on.  I'm not turning it on if the mesh node doesn't support.

Once you try setting up a Mesh node, without the MLO being active, you may not be able to change the node unless you reset it and let the BE98 Pro find it again.

The first thing needed is to verify you have the MLO set up correctly.
