AXE16000 new firmware11/22/2022

Looks like a new update is out. My system did not seem to pick it up.

I noticed a check box for downloading Beta firmware, maybe I missed it earlier.

Version 3.0.0.4.388.21617

No matter what I’ve tried: *reverted firmware, hard reset with older firmware that worked prior, hard reset with new firmware, try AXE16000 beta firmware (which almost bricked it), my single 6E device does not connect via 6 GHz any longer. *(Scratching my head)….

@jzchen, Did the new one install normally? It is getting confusing since this update seemed to hit the AX11000 last week. Now it is on the AXE16000.

Yes, the firmwares are installing normally, just that beta nightmare, more specifically AXE16000 beta after flipping the physical power switch off and on. (Pretty sure it's not recommended to upload firmware through a WiFi connection, but I had no choice as the ethernet ports were down). Interesting how the one I downloaded to my computer then uploaded to the router worked much better...

Both AXEs are on 3.0.0.4.388_22525. My son just came home this evening and I told him my concern. He opened his computer up (downstairs) and I happily saw it connected to the AXE16000 via 6 GHz channel. (It had a clear line of sight to the router). Now he's upstairs and usually has his door closed. The AXE11000 is in the hallway so I will check again...

It's a 14" MacBook Pro that was just released earlier this month...

On my AXE11000 the 5GHz WiFi drops at least twice a week with this new 22525 FW. Again, it's just the 5GHz radio that dies, and only with this new FW. Have you guys noticed that? The previous FW was rock solid for months at a time.

I haven’t sorted out exactly the problem but devices seem to only connect to 2.4 GHz when they connect to my AXE11000 node. *(It may be caused by my RT-AC68U node being physically too close…*

9.0.0.6.102_4856 beta is out as of 3/21/23. I installed it yesterday (3/22/23) hoping they stabilized the Ethernet connections/ports, as well as hoping the 6E device connects again.  I immediately sent a 12 hr feedback telling them to please watch the Ethernet stability.  So far so good and the MacBook Pro has been connected to the 6 GHz channel on our AXE11000 node starting last night when my son came back with it from school….

Did the new beta firmware break anything as far as you can tell? I am interested in it, just don't want to go backwards or otherwise brick anything on my AXE16000

I am not aware of anything broken/not working.  For me I have a Rheem (IoT) water heater not able to connect so I tried creating an IoT specific network.  No success so far. (There are significant number of settings to tinker with, but I am not confident I can get it to connect).

I’ll post ASAP if something serious happens.  (This time the beta is the latest firmware.  Last time the beta firmware came out prior to latest release firmware so hopefully it builds on top of)…
