AXE16000 FW's 388 with other using 386

So I'm thinking of getting another AXE16000. 

How will it play with another AXE16000 that can only run 386 version FW's?

will they be fine meshing together etc?

Will you run them with wireless backhaul or wired?  (I avoid buying duplicate routers so far, but a friend has recently tried to convince me to get a built Mesh packaged system like ZenWiFi)...
