AX11000 problems

JeffLo
Level 10
ax11000 been trouble shooting this since last year
the common prob like wifi drop outs and other stuff, but whats wierd is its like a memory leak, after like 2 weeks or more all wifi wont have internet, its connected but zero data will pass thru its like the router is blocking all traffic up and down, but the lan side is fine (sometimes wifi and lan), i swap diff router all is good diff model brand and a cheap one too so its not my isp

the only way i can fix this is by factory reset, reboot and on/off doesnt fix this, is like a memory leak on pc but you need to reset factory defaults to fix it, so i looking for something to replace this ax11000, but if the hardware is the same with the axe11000 just the wifi6E so im afraid its going to have the same problems im having

but i do hope my prob is a isolated case, but some other commong prob ive read on the net with the ax11000 im also getting currently on the beta firmware but still the probs are thier

these are the common errors i see in the system log it flooded with this types of entries

You have fiber and it is only 100 Mbps?

Your system seems pretty confusing with all the ISP options you have. I think the probably of both routers having the same problem is fairly remote, considering your configuration.. And throwing a Ethernet Router into the mix, does not help when trying to troubleshoot a system... Are any of your ISP options metered?

I am about to try loading Win 10 21H1 on my system to see if I can get the 6 Ghz network on the AXE11000 but I doubt that will work right now..
Maximus Z790 Hero,
Intel i9-13900k
Intel BE200

the router will disconnect them at the same time and just come back like after 2mins to 5mins random, and how come online games not disconnect? and discord? but everything else is, so im sure it a big on the wan side of the router thats doing this

not ive also tested this with only 1 isp using pppoe connection, also tried it with static , and dhcp to the isp modem, same thing the router is doing this, and both ax11000 are also doing this, and ive also read from other people with ax11000 also notice this wan disconnect

and also ive tried all this with a different brand router replacing the asus ax11000 , they dont do that, so thats why i said im pretty sure this is a asus ax11000 problem

yes my system is confusing with the mikrotik network but its working flawlessy, i said im made the asus router standalone to troubleshoot, its not connected now to the other network with multiple connections, and its still doing its thing, now im observing it with 1 wan connection and a usb connection for dual wan, same thing the wan will just disconnect both wan1 and wan2 (wan2 is the usb connection) and online games its not affected and discord, only apps that uses dns i think like surfing the net youtube and facebok and others

I am also having the same problem where at totally random moments, the internet connection drops to about 5mbps and websites don't load, but I remain connected to discord at times. Upgraded from an AC5300 and so far it seems to be a downgrade.

try this one, i do this every a few months when my ax11000 acts wierd

1 do a factory reset and dont forget to check the box that says initialize setting and clear all logs
2 then redo all the settings you need ( dont upload any save config you previously saved )

i dont know why but this helps it run normal again till around another 4-5 months then it acts up wierd again like it no internet connecftion, i have to press wan and save it to just get my internet back and, and even in the dashboard it has a ip from my isp by the internet status says its disconnected, even if it says disconnected it still has internet till around after a few mins, like something in the router is getting full or its like a memory leak i cant pinpoint the problem, but this help it run smoothly again till its not anymore

i always notice that after a few months my internet will start having wierd problems when browing, sudden loss of internet and comes back up and wifi getting disconnects, it will get worst and worst till its almost unuseable, and i'll need to do a full factory reset

and if i just upload a save config that i just saved before the factory reset, it wont fix it i dont know why, other things are also save like a bunch of corrupted files i think

so it needs to be a clean slate, now i'll save a config file after the full reset and try it next time my ax11000 gets wierd again

also by any chance you using the ai protection features? im gonna turn it off and observe, i think this ax11000 router from asus is flawed, this is my 2nd unit and it has the same problems with the old one that was replace, but cant pin point the problem, the only thing i notice is as time goes by it will be buggy like after 5months of use it will start to crap out and needs to be factory reset hence the word im using it seem to be a memory leaked of some sort

On our AXE11000 I do use the AiProtection feature. I scan every once in a while and set everything strong/YES, except for WiFi password which it says mine is weak. I do not notice any concern that it is causing.
