AX11000 new Firmware yet again

Saw yesterday that there was firmware 7997 available. I had terrible problems with 7979 and hoped that 7997 would work better. When I went to upgrade this morning when no one was using the internet I found that there was yet another version 8011 available. I upgraded to 8011 and then reset the router, configured it and started using it. I lasted about 30 minutes before it started doing the same thing as 7979 did.....No DHCP so no internet for anyone, wired or wireless. Went back to 6436 and everything works again. This is getting ridiculous. I had been in contact with ASUS on the issues and they said it must be my hardware so send them the router for repair! If it is harware why does it work perfectly on 6436? I have run for over a month on 6436 without issues, not even a restart.

I bought another AX11000 for a client and it is also stable running 6436 but does the same thing when I try to upgrade to newer firmware. This make me pretty sure that the firmware is the issue not the hardware.

About the only thing you can do is check the System log to see if you can pick out when it disconnects and why..

Is it the Router causing the problem or possibly some local environmental component.....

Thank you very much! While waiting for your answer I've downgraded to 6436 and noticed just once minor thing, on the 5Ghz-1 the Â*802.11ax / Wi-Fi 6 mode setting is set disabled but my phones and other gadgets is detecting it as enabled (Wifi logo with 6) . Â*Have you encountered this? Thanks!

That's the weird thing with this Router from WiFi drops randomly without showing any errors, I even asked Merlin's from another group to check out my logs and no error or crash has been logged.Â*

I'm just confused on how to fix this problem of regarding the random WiFi reboot.

Yeah, there has been a flurry of firmware updates recently. So far no issues with this or the previous version. Though definitely something up if they're releasing so many firmware updates so quickly. Hope your issue gets resolved. Sometimes these firmware updates break more than they fix.

I gave up trying to get a stable update as we are in a work from home situation and cannot afford to have the router failing intermittently. I am still on 6436 with no issues.

Your log in the other thread only covered 3 days over 6 months. Is there any way you could copy and paste the last few hours or days?

What I did see was a bunch of Kernel entries, which are not normal. I have never seen the LEDs turn red, so that is not a good sign.

I have not encountered any issue with the Wi-FI 6 once it is up and running. There were a few issues with getting both 5Ghz radios to run at 160Mhz but that is all. My router is extremely stable running with 5Ghz-2 channel running 160Mhz so that the AX200 adapters can connect up to 2.4Ghz. The 5Ghz-1 does not have 160Mhz enabled so that older devices could still connect properly. I have run my router for up to 6 months without having to restart it. I figure if it is working why mess with it.

I'll probably do a fresh configuration again just to make sure I'm not carrying any previous settings from the the other firmware. Thanks mate! Hopefully this would solve my problem Thanks!Â*

Since you appear to be running a non-standard firmware on the system, I cannot compare your log to mine, sorry.
