I have a standard Xfinity xFi Advanced Gateway (XB7) model number CGM4331COM wireless router that sits in another room. I connect my PC to that wireless network using a on-board WiFi connection.
I want to install a NAS device, but I dont want to hook the NAS into the XB7 because then I will be sending files over WiFi and it will be too slow. I was thinking about purchasing a Asus RT-AX3000, setting into Repeater mode to grab DHCP from the XB7 and using the lan side of the Asus RT-AX3000 to get the Gigabit speed of the of the lan ports so when I send files to the NAS it will use the Gigabit speed of the LAN. That should work, correct?
