Hello,
So I have a ROG GT-BE98 router ( first floor ) as the main with 2gb Verizon Fios coming into it ( Just internet....NO verizon gateway in between ). I setup an AiMesh using a RT--BE92U ( second floor ). This is hardwired going from the 2.5gb Lan of the GT to the 2.5gb Wan of the RT as per Asus instructions. Backhaul ethernet is enabled on GT. The issue I am having is when I move around for example with my iPhone ( 17 Pro Max ) , which is connected to the 6ghz -2 ( since the are 2 6ghz connections available ) and the 6ghz - 2 is link to the RT to tht 6ghz, the RT never picks up any of my 6ghz devices. It just stays connected to the GT. The 2.4 and 5 ghz move around and connect fine. I tried lowering the roaming option from -70 to -50 with no luck on the GT. This have been going on forever and asus just keeps going in circles. I'm hoping someone has any idea. Also I do have only the 2.4ghz guest network enabled. All routers are updated to the latest firmware.

You have the GT-BE98 Pro correct? Because there is a GT-BE98 and it has 5 GHz-1 and 5 GHz-2.
If the 10GbE ethernet ports are open you can connect via 10GbE backhaul with no problem. (That is how mine are connected, but through an unmanaged network switch). I believe 6 GHz-1 should mesh with the RT-BE92U 6 GHz. This is why it doesn't roam. Try turning off 6 GHz-2 radio and see if this makes the iPhone move between them...

So I did connect the 10GbE and turned off the 2nd radio ( 6ghz-2 ), but devices did not roam to the RT.

Just wondering, are you seeing any failures in your Wi-Fi performance? Are connections dropping or speed slowing way down?
I ask because those systems are designed to pick up the best connection possible. It may be seeing something which keeps it on the BE98 Pro. Possibly, the fact the GT has 2x2 radios (except for the 2.4 GHz) and the BE98 Pro has 4x4 radios.
You could try turning down the transmit power on the BE98 Pro, for testing, to see if you could get what you want.
Do you have all of your Router Antenna Tips pointing at the ceiling?
Edit: Also, on the iPhone, there is a setting to turn on automatic Wi-Fi 6E mode, which should be enabled.

As far as I can tell 2.4ghz and 5ghz have 0 wifi issues. I did try turning the the transmit power down, but it didnt help.
Yes, both routers antennas are pointing up as well. From what I read the iPhone 17 pro max to my knowledge with iOS 26 has a new chip, which Wi-Fi 7 is automatically enabled. Just to note too when iPhone is on Wi-Fi 5ghz it does switch correctly.

Per ASUS the RT-BE92U outer antennae should be at 45 degrees angle. (They should have put the ideal on the front page of the manual and also images, but its in there. It does not sound like this will resolve the issue you are having but just throwing it out there)...
