Hello everyone.
I have a rather annoying problem with my AiMesh network for which I can't seem to find any solutions. Here are the details about it. Recently I have decided to add another router to my network as I was having issue with range. I live in UK and my provider is VirginMedia and my router is connected to their which I use in modem mode. I do not have the ethernet cables to where wanted to put them, so I've opted for wireless route. My issues began nearly momentarly, as my router (RT-AC86U) failed to establish connection with new AiMesh router (RT-AX52 (AX1800)). I have downloaded the latest software and reset the new router to no results, so I have resorted to connecting them with an ethernet cable. That finally worked and I thought that was it. Unfortunetly, this is where my current problems began. I fully expected slower speeds, maybe even a break in signal (which all happened), but it got much worse. As soon as I enabled AiMesh, I began to experience problems with my PC and PS5 wired connection. Slowdowns were often and complete disconnection was also not uncommon. I have observed the router loosing all connection to the modem (the light became red) and all ethernet connection were switched off. At first I thought it might be my service provider and their modem/router to be the issue, so I have restarted it completely. That didn't help (and it was working without a hitch before AiMesh). I have then thought it might the primary router being to slow, so I have bought a new one (GT-AX11000). I have copied over the entire profile from the old router to the new one, Tried to establish the AiMesh again, and again I had the same issue on setup. This made me think that it might be the new router I bought (RT-AX52 (AX1800)), and tried connecting the old one (while having it wiped and checked for updates). It did setup through the wireless setup, and I thought of using it instead. This however was shortlived as the problems mentioned above with ethernet connection dropping and slowdowns still persisted. The only thing that seems to fix the issue is not have AiMesh routers (I have decided to connect both of them) turned off. Turning off either of them will not help, only when both are off, the internet is stable again.
I know this is a looooong paragraph but i have spent weeks on this issue and the only thing I can still try is to rebuild the network from scratch which I would really rather not do.

A few more bits of information might help me help you: type/speed of Internet service? Model of modem/gateway/router provided to you? (Did you set it to bridge mode or IP Passthrough?)
Ideally you'd connect your new GT-AX11000 to the VirginMedia Modem, then add AiMesh nodes to it, the RT-AX52. Once you have that set up then you can consider IF you want to continue to add the RT-AC86U.
To make things a little easier you may try to backup the configuration data from the RT-AC86U, and restore it to the GT-AX11000. Hopefully a lot less settings to change after this process. It is preferred to set up from scratch the GT-AX11000 as router and the remainder as AiMesh nodes...

Hi. First of all I'm sorry for not answering but I was away.
My type of internet is a standard cable internet from VirginMedia here in UK. The speed is 400Mbps down and around 50Mbps Up.
I actually did all the steps you told me. I have my GT-AX11000 connected to the modem. I have then connected RT-AX52 to it. I have also copied the settings from my RT-AC86U to make it less of a hassle. I'm honestly at a loss here though. It seems for a week when I have been away and for couple of days now that I'm back, the internet works just fine. I am not happy about it though as I have no idea what it was and want to prevent this problem from happening in the future

A couple/few things to do if you have trouble in the future:
1. If you have trouble pop back here and ask for help. There are good intending members here that are more than happy to help vs living with an issue for weeks.
2. AiMesh works (best) with the highest specification router as what ASUS calls "router", so the first one connected to the service/modem. You add lesser spec routers as "nodes".
3. You can set up for automatic updates, but I do not recommend checking the option for beta firmware. Sometimes beta firmware can be older than the latest release firmware, so is actually (in my opinion) a downgrade.
