3,000 SQ FT 2 story with a 1,000 SQ DT 2 story shop 100 FT from main house, Internet/WI-FI options

Hi, I only have basic knowledge of Wi/Fi set up.

For the last few years I have been running ASUS 5300 Main with another 5300 as a node in the house. I have a Nano station 2.4 at the house and another at the shop with a ASUS RT AC88U set up maybe in Bridge mode ( Not 100 % sure ) what ever mode mirrors main routers name and passwords. Internet works pretty well but I would like it to be a little faster in the shop if possible, in the house I am around 400/500 download speed and the shop is probably 50 to 80 area. The Nano station have been up and running for about 10 Years now.
I have a barn about 75 FT behind house with trees in the way and it is probably at least 100 FT from shop with trees between the two that I have wireless cameras and would like signal to be stronger. Is there better routers and nano stations?
My son does game we have a lot of wi fi devices tvs, computers and what not.

I like the ASUS stuff.

Since the AC5300, both GT-AC5300 and RT-AC5300 are End of Life (EOL), ASUS has several suggested models as replacement:

GT-AXE16000, GT-AX11000 Pro, GT6, ZenWiFi Pro XT12, and ZenWiFi Pro ET12.  The last three are available in 2-packs, which may be convenient for replacing your two AC5300 routers.

I am not familiar with Nano stations, but at 10 years old they are probably due for replacement.  Since you prefer ASUS brand they do make Repeaters, (models starting with RP).  The newest is RP-BE58 (WiFi 7), a somewhat older model that I have been running is the RP-AX58.  I am actually hoping to replace my RP-AX58, it is next on my list to upgrade.  TP-Link, if you would consider that brand, makes many RE models/options to choose/fit your needs...

The  AP linked above could I try putting just that on the outside of my shop and see if it boost the signal? Would the router in my shop hook up to that to supply the WiFi or does the AP handle that also? Thank you

As I understand an Access Point (AP) would work to provide WiFi to the shop, with the caveat you'd need to run at least an Ethernet cable to it from a router where service is, (or a network switch.  A Power over Ethernet (PoE) injector is provided.  It's unclear but I believe you need a power supply to use that, or use a PoE network switch like an Omada Hardware Controller.  (I don't have experience with TP-Link's Omada line I'm afraid.

The second option would likely work as I believe you have things set up, as you don't need to run Ethernet from building to building.  Also here I haven't had experience using such a bridge.

ASUS has RP (repeaters) and TP-Link has RE (range extenders).  These are not business rated but consumer/home rated.  These wirelessly extend WiFi signal, vs Access Points, which typically need to be ethernet wired from the source.

You originally mentioned router upgrade option, and a lot of ASUS routers can run as AP, or RE/RP.  Most ASUS products also mesh together whereas TP-Link you need to be careful as they have a few mesh systems which aren't compatible with each other...

I currently have a Bridge on house and shop, So if I was to try say the  AP I already have Ethernet for power and to the router there. The router in the shop is set up as an access point at the moment with Bridge hooked to it. I tried using the Mesh option but it was just a little to far for a good connection.

Ahh.

I found searching Nanostation 2.4 that Unifi still sells an airMAX NanoStation M2.  The specifications show Fast Ethernet/100MbE.  It seems to be the limiting factor to the shop.  Probably your best bet is to replace it with the Omada EAP211-Bridge KIT.

I see that the Omada EAP211-Bridge KIT comes in V1 and V2 but I am not sure what the difference is They appear to have same specs but there dimensions are a little different.

If possible always get the higher version as they are typically supported longer with firmware updates.

Regarding the EAP211-Bridge Kit I went to the support pages and the latest version appears to be 3.6.

Will the 5 GHZ versions have an issue going though one window? Maybe the AC Loco model?
