I use the AX82u as primary in the center of my apartment flat. One of xt8 is wired by cat5 cable (two parts of cable connected with a cable connector) and the other is wireless. My TV, playstation is connected wired to the ax82u, my laptop (which is daily used for web and torrent downloads) is connected wireless to one of the xt8 (should i connect the laptop via cable to a xt8 that wirelessly connected to modem)
The cpus and ram of the xt8s are better than dsl ax82u. So should i use a xt8 as a primary unit?

The DSL-AX82U is a modem/router combination unit. Are you using it to replace a DSL modem/is it connected to a phone/RJ-11 line?
Yes ideally you have the right idea to use one of the XT8s as primary router because it is tri-band vs the AX82U which is dual band.

That makes sense. I do believe you can connect your laptop via Ethernet to the wireless backhauled XT8 and it should improve performance...

Is there a Bridge Mode so you can make the XT8 primary? You'd lose the router function of the AX82U but would be interesting to see if there's any improved performance...
