Hello,

I am using rog rtx 2070 super oc gpu and the psu is rog thor 850p. The cable is having 1x8 pin for psu and the other end 2x16 pin for gpu. Now i purchased the rog rtx 4070 ti super 16gb oc gpu. The cable with the package is 3x8 pin. How should i connect the 4070 to thor 850 p ? Is there any cable connectors available ? Or should i replace the psu ?

Hello john_jeril

The ROG Thor 850p has 2 x 8pin pcie connectors, you'd need 3 x 8-pin connectors to use the 3 x 8-pin adapter.

You could however just get a 2x8-pin to 16-pin cable, this one is compatible with the ROG Thor.

16 pin is enough instead of 24 ?

Yes, the 2 x 8-pin to 16-pin cable supports up to an RTX 4090.

This is the connector which was supplied along with the 4070 ti gpu. Its 1x12 pin to 3x8 pin connector. 12pin to gpu. So should i connect the current 2x8 pin to this 3x8 pin and leave 1×8 pin as it is?

The photo you posted is of the pcie power adapter, you wouldn't use it at all.

you'd connect the 2 x 8-pin cables to the psu, and connect the 16-pin to your 4070 Ti.

I have tried to connect 2x8 pins, but it didnt work. RGB is glowing but the fan didnt rotate. So i connected 3 single 3x8 pin cables from psu to connector and to gpu and now its working perfectly.
