Hello! Proud owner of the RoG 9. It's pretty great to start with and generally am very happy. I'm planning to make some quick succession posts to see if anyone has any suggestions on how to change / fix some problems I discovered.
The options for notifications in status bar is lacking. Either 3 icons, a badge for number of notifications, or none. Seems weirdly restrictive. My old phone would show as many unique icons as it could fit in the status bar, and then show a symbol (just a dot) to indicate there were more than could be displayed - the same dot that is used when I have it set to 3 icons and the 4th icon is a dot because 4+ notifications are active. The as-many-as-fits is the best style in my opinion. With the high resolution display on RoG 9, there is room for as many as 13 icons straddling the front camera cutout, and even as many as 7 just to the left of the camera cutout. Nevermind if holding in landscape - so much unused space.
It's great the option exists to limit icons or hide the app icons for privacy sake. And even screenshot/recording options to ignore the status bar. When you share such media, an embarassing app or a local app could reveal information you didn't mean to share. But for someone who isn't worried about that, all the icons would be appreciated.
The other QoL suggestion is I noticed the OS names screenshots by date *and* active app at the time. That is wonderful! I jumped right away to the conclusion I could sort my screenshots by app, but alas, I couldn't find how to in the stock gallery. And I am not finding a good recommendation for a third party app that takes advantage of it, either. I checked on my old phone and the files would be named "Screenshot_Date-Time", so a third party app that tries to identify which app the screenshots come from couldn't rely on app name in the file across all OSes.
Adding the ability to sort by app of origin in the gallery would make finding screenshots so much easier. I know it can be done via a script, import them all to my pc and then run a regex of identifying the app names after the structured date-time prefic and moving them to the corresponding folders, and possibly doing the same all via adb or a scripting app if such exists on android, but native support would be awesome.
