ROG Gladius mouse freezes every 3 seconds after the latest update

After the latest update of rog live service (2.4.24.0) the mouse freezes every 3 sec, after the initialization of armoury crate. IT IS UNUSABLE! The only fix I have found is to unplug and plug back in the mouse while armoury crate is open. Also uninstalling the live service fixes the issuse (obivously). I have the latest updates for everything. On 19 sept. the rog live service updated and it was also an "asus external hal" or something similar that updated and started to cause this issue. ASUS HELP!

10 years and trash because of software issue. I'll call Greta 😄

More like planned archaeology. I've seen stuff at the British Museum less old than the Gladius, can barely remember owning mine. Not in the habit of defending poor after-purchase care, but you can't chastise support when you've been answered and the mouse is older than some people on this forum, that's insane.

As long as it still receives updates, does the age matter? As long as it still receives updates that means its still relevant and the date of release doesnt matter. Based on your logic you should demolish half of the housees since there are less older stuff in the British Museum.

Where did the support answer and acknowledge the issue?

If you own a Gladius 1 you should care about how it performs especially if its your primary mouse and you are very happy with it.

Hi @KITT_2013 @KD27 @sebj84 @Hipflask @itz_zarz  ,

thank you for the information you've provided.
We've passed your details on to our relevant backend team for analysis.
Please be patient and wait for any updates or messages from us.
Thank you.

Providing detailed device specifications (MB/CPU/GPU/PSU, etc.) and the respective driver versions, OS version, and BIOS version will help us analyze the issue more effectively.

it was so bad and I needed to use my pc, i have decided its time to switch away from ASUS products sadly.

But the specs were a ASUS G22 OEM pc with 13700F cpu, 16gb ram, 4070 ASUS Dual GPU, ASUS terminal ARGB module, ASUS Claymore Keyboard, etc.

I will now need to migrate the other 5 PCs that I built with ASUS, to some other brand. the constant Armoury Crate induced issues, mouse issues, my Z790 motherboard coming set to ulimited watts damaging hardware (issue ASUS later changed with bios update)  have literally cost you a customer that was using your hardware since the 1990s with a P5A socket 7 motherrboard.

Having this exact same issue, for over 6 months now and still no fix. The only solution is to search up 'ROG GLADIUS' in installed apps and uninstall it. You will lose your lightning controls and all but the mouse will still be functional. It's a shame ASUS provided us with a broken driver and we don't even have a way to manually roll back!

@Aureliannn_ROG do you acknowledge the issue now?

To anyone interested, I've got in touch with support and I have explained and showed videos of the issue. I am waiting on a resolution. Will keep you posted.

Ya i couldnt even get Crate to detect the mouse anymore to reinstall the drivers

Latest update from Asus:

"Our engineering team has found that when Armoury Crate initializes, it communicates frequently with the mouse. This can cause some load on older mice, such as the ROG Gladius, leading to issues such as inability to access the device page or stuttering.

Currently, our team is actively working on it and we expect to release an update in late November to address this issue.

We understand this may cause inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience."
