After the latest update of rog live service (2.4.24.0) the mouse freezes every 3 sec, after the initialization of armoury crate. IT IS UNUSABLE! The only fix I have found is to unplug and plug back in the mouse while armoury crate is open. Also uninstalling the live service fixes the issuse (obivously). I have the latest updates for everything. On 19 sept. the rog live service updated and it was also an "asus external hal" or something similar that updated and started to cause this issue. ASUS HELP!

The issue has been fixed with the latest ROG Gladius HAL update (v1.2.1.9) that included HTML (v4.05.29) and Plugin ASUS Main SDK (v131.0.2903.70).

I have the same exact issue with a Gladius mouse. If I need to buy a mouse I will probably just go with someone else because Crate has pushed bad firmware before and caused me nothing but headache. I stopped doing the updates but it forced me to do them to even control ARGB this time.

I have uninstalled the gladius driver (Gladius HTML in armoury crate) and the issue resolved. Its clear that the driver is not updated to work with the rog live service. After booting up the laptop and after the initialization of armoury crate, the mouse starts freezing every 3 seconds. Its like the mouse is rebooting every 3 seconds because I see the logo light that instead of slowly fading away it just light up again, exactly when the mouse freezes. The normal operation would be the breathing light effect but its interruped by the freezing (that looks like a rebooting/restarting of the mouse, like plugging and unplugging). I have tried to uninstall armoury crate and reinstall but as soon as I reinstall live service and gladius 1 driver the issue appears again. One of those sofwares must be uninstalled for the mouse to work correctly. I chose to uninstall the gladius driver since rog live service is far more important for armoury crate. Please FIX THE DRIVER!

How did you uninstall the driver? Where is this done?

In control panel, at programs and features. Its called rog gladius and has the armoury crate logo.

Thanks I was looking in Crate for uninstall at first. Sadly my Gladius became like 1DPI and no clicks without driver, but it did stop freezing.

After uninstalling the mouse driver, the gladius quit freezing but now i cant get any movement speed out of it, also the buttons dont click. So I have a Gladius I that barely moves with motion all the way up in windows mouse settings, as if the mouse is running single digiit DPI. I was using my Gladius I because the Gladius II had 2 buttons fail. Not really confidence building for ASUS peripherals
I know they are both old mice out of warranty as they came with or bought with my past ASUS PCs
ASUS ROG GR8 came with a Mechanical Keyboard and Gladius I
ASUS ROG GR8 II I bought the Claymore I keyboard and Gladius II
ASUS ROG G22 came with a cheap membrane keyboard and a cheap 2 button mouse (not even a cheap gaming mouse).

For me it has kept its settings after driver uninstall. Probably because many years ago I have updated the firmware to v1.29. But try again, install the driver from armoury crate updates section and then try to set the mouse to the desired dpi values and lightning configuration, unplug it and test it in another pc to make sure its configuration is being kept and then while unplugged uninstall the gladius driver and then plug back in the mouse and check if it works as before the uninstall. And just use it without the driver, since it doesnt work anymore with the updates asus releases.

the issue is old, it started as a manageable issue but now its really made the mouse unusable: https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/gaming-peripherals/rog-gladius-hal-update-freezes-mouse/td-p/967383
back then asus didnt even care to fix the issue, @Aureliannn_ROG told me to go to a local repair shop because its a hardware defect (although the issue appeared after an update, like now). thats how much they care about their customers.
