Hey everyone,
I’ve been using the ROG Falcata for a while now, but recently I’ve noticed some strange behavior. During gaming sessions, a few keys either don’t respond at all or need to be pressed twice to register. Outside of gaming it happens less, but it’s still annoying when typing.
Here’s what I already checked:
To confirm, I ran a test on an online keyboard tester (@https://testedeteclado.com.br/ ) and could clearly see that some keys occasionally fail even though the keyboard looks fine otherwise.
Is this a known issue with the Falcata? Could it be related to software/firmware, or is it a sign the keyboard might be defective?
Any advice or similar experiences would be great to hear!
Thanks,

Hello Diiego_Pereira
I haven't experienced keys not responding.
Have you tried adjusting the actuation point?

Hello, I have the same problem but only when using the RF receiver. If I use the cable provided, the keyboard works perfectly fine.
When using the RF receiver, not all key presses register and the W key registers without me pressing it.
If I open a browser, the W key registers multiple times without me even touching the keyboard.
This happens when rapid trigger is enabled and also when it is disabled.
If I fully press each WASD key 20 times, the W key will only register 15 times, the A keys 14 times, the S key 12 times and the D key 16 times.
I am not 100% sure but I think the issue was introduced with the latest firmware.

Hello, I tested this further and even though the issue seems to happen randomly, I managed to reproduce it when using the left side of the keyboard only, connected wirelessly using the RF receiver. Here’s a video demonstrating the issues.

I've a similar problem where keystrokes are missed even mid writing. At first it was only when the keyboard woke up from sleep but the last 2 firmware updates have made it worse. I regret not returning the board because I wanted to wait if a firmware update would fix the issue but now the return window has closed. 🤡. Back to my old keyboard for now in the hopes that some future update will resolve this.

Hello, I am currently experiencing a similar problem. What is the latest driver version for the receiver and device? Is v9.00.07 available for download for the receiver?

I’ve updated to the latest firmware available on Saturday.
Device is in version 8.00.14
Dongle is in version 9.00.05

Hello bguerreiro
I have the same versions, all good after the update?
I tried with the left half in 2.4GHz wired mode, I didn't have any pausing.
I saw you were using the usb extender for the wireless dongle, reception should be good.
Have you tried different usb ports? You can use motherboard or pc case usb ports.

Hi Nate,
I’ve tried every single USB port I have on my recent B850 motherboard.
I’ve just ran a diagnostic and am seeing a bunch of errors:
Please advise.

Thank you for the screenshots, sorry to hear you're still having issues.
Check Device Manager, does it show any yellow triangles? If yes, please post a screenshot of your Device Manager.
You can try running the windows keyboard troubleshooter to see if it identifies the problem.
