Falchion RX Low Profile 65% Wireless Gaming Keyboard

I have the Falchion RX Low Profile 65% Wireless Gaming Keyboard and windows 11

Devices manager displays my keyboard entre strangely

Imagine one shows device manager pre keyboard installationBefore keyboard install.png

Image two shows keyboard installed pre first reboot.

Image three shows keyboard installed after a couple reboots.

After several more reboots.

Sometimes after a few more reboots there's potentially more duplicate entries; for example: unplugged Keyboard_Filter_01, Mouse_Filter_01 as well as the USB Composite Device. When this happens, each time I remove the unplugged USB Composite Device everything connected to the unplugged USB Composite Device will disappear until I reboot.  When this happens and the computer loads in again Windows makes the sounds of USB devices disconnecting and reconnecting.

Side Note: My older keyboard didn't do that. My old keyboard was a Logitech G915; it did show unplugged entries in the device manager, and I do believe it was intentional (Maybe certain items in the list with the G915 dealt with connectivity types; example: Bluetooth vs Logitech dongle) So if I switched connectivity, it might flip flop what's unplugged vs what's plugged in.

So, I understand some entries on my Falchion keyboard may do the same thing; however, my old keyboard didn't continue the add multiple unplugged entries over and over again after reboots. So, what's with that? Is there something I need to change? Thank you.

BTW, I use a Logitech mouse. (I realize the ROG OMNI Receiver in the mouse category is probably a place holder)

Hi @robjs76 ,

thank you for explaining in detail the issue you’re experiencing with your ASUS ROG Falchion RX Low Profile 65% Wireless Keyboard on Windows 11. We understand this can cause inconvenience and want to help you address it.

Here are a few suggestions for further checking and troubleshooting:

  1. Please ensure that Armoury Crate and your keyboard firmware are both updated to the latest versions.
  2. Try removing the paired keyboard in Armoury Crate, then re-pair it via Bluetooth or the 2.4GHz wireless receiver to see if it resolves the duplicate entries in Device Manager.
  3. We also recommend completely uninstalling and reinstalling Armoury Crate to ensure a clean setup.
  4. Could you let us know when this issue first started? For example, did it begin after updating Windows, drivers, or Armoury Crate?

If the problem still persists after these steps, we kindly ask that you collect the relevant Windows Event Viewer logs and the Armoury Crate Log after reproducing the issue, and share the following details with us via private message so our backend technical team can analyze it further:

  • Keyboard serial number
  • Armoury Crate version
  • Keyboard firmware version
  • Windows 11 version (for example, 22H2 or 23H2)
  • Armoury Crate Log file captured during the issue

The log files contain detailed information about the software's operation, which can help our backend team identify the issue.
Please ensure that the logs accurately capture the moment the issue occurs. (Please enable logging, perform the problematic operation once, and then package the logs.)
Here are the steps to collect Armoury Crate log files: Please refer to Q4: What is APP Diagnostics? https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1043747/#a14

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

thanks for your input Aureliannn_ROG, I may have figured it out. I'm still in the process of testing my results.

This is still a problem i just enabled the logs so i guess i need to continue to true but with the logging

I may have just fixed it this morning but I'm not sure, every time I believe it's fixed the next cold boot, reboot or wake up I'm back the square one. Maybe you can confirm my curiosity. I want to use just the Omni receiver not Bluetooth and up until this morning I hadn't touch Bluetooth.  So, I switched to Bluetooth for both my keyboard and mouse, then reconnected the Omni receiver and the problem disappeared. Bottom line my keyboard and mouse are now paired to both my Bluetooth and Omni receiver, with both keyboard and mouse switched to the Omni receiver connection. I'm fine with that as my solution if that's the proper way, but that seems strange to require both. Maybe 10 years ago I could see this as a thing, but not in 2025. Is this some sort of malfunction? Should I be concerned down the line? Thanks for your time. Robert

New Update: I was wrong, it's not fixed. 😞 I knew I spoke to soon... SMH

Could this be my problem? Instability with usb and m.2 drives disappearing where I cant boot into windows?

Hello robjs

The 5V rail is responsible for powering the usb ports, the 5V rail looks weak and could be causing issues with the usb ports.
