Zephyrus G15 GA503 wont turn on unless i remove battery.

My GA503 won't turn on unless I disconnect the battery inside. The battery does charge however and it will power the laptop fine when it's reconnected after startup. I'm trying to diagnose and fix this problem. Do I need a new battery or is this a motherboard issue? Maybe software issue? Any help is much appreciated.

Hi @RighteousOne ,

Please try removing all external devices and the power supply while the laptop is turned off, then press and hold the power button for 40 seconds to perform an EC reset. Afterward, reconnect the power supply and turn on the laptop to see if there is any improvement. If the issue persists, we recommend you take the laptop to a local service center for further hardware diagnostics to identify the problem. Thank you.

To speed up issue identification, please provide the product model, BIOS, and driver versions, along with the troubleshooting steps you've already tried to avoid redundant checks.

The EC reset didn't work. Does this point to an issue on the mother board? I'd like to be prepared in terms of cost to repair before I take it to get repaired.

Would it be worth while replacing the battery at this point? Or would it be a waste of money? I'd like to fix it myself if it's something g simple like a battery.

Hi @RighteousOne ,

Since we cannot physically inspect the laptop's condition, it is necessary for the local service center to use relevant equipment for further diagnostics to identify the issue. Therefore, we are unable to provide repair cost information at this time. We recommend that you contact your local service center to request an RMA for further inspection. Thank you.
