x13 Battery Woes

Bought this laptop around 17 months ago in the UK.  At first the device was fine, being able to leave the GPU and having less weight worked perfectly.  However, I can't believe they are still getting away with only a 12 month warranty.  A 12 month warranty for an expensive electrical item is ridiculous.

Like numerous other people I have now found that the battery won't charge, the diagnostics says the batteries in good condition but stuck on 0%, as soon as we take the power cord out the laptop shuts down.  BIOS has been reset, power button for 40 seconds, laptop rebuilt, ensured we are using the official charger only, etc, etc. and the only option now is repair.

This is where it becomes very poor from ASUS in my opinion.  £45 to pick up the laptop.  £250 to 'investigate' (put power cable in, does it charge? it's hardly extensive testing, considering that they could have the logs if they wanted) and then there is a repair fee on top and not even a guarantee it will be repairable.  By the time the laptop is indeed fixed (if it is possible) it will likely be £500+.

I just wanted to share the very poor experience.  Other companies bend over backwards to help people (Steam take a bow) but this is just very poor and I'll not buy this brand again.  If anyone has any other ideas or has managed to get the battery fixed, please let me know.

I don't think you've read my post properly.  The reason I say this is that to have it even inspected is a minimum of £300 according to the email we had (£45 pick up fee then a £250 per hour inspection fee).

I'd happily accept the pick up fee but, as it's a hardware fault, the inspection fee is a bit ridiculous considering the age of the device is just out of warranty.

I know it's just a generic response you've put there but it doesn't really help the issue.
