I was wondering if anyone could help me out, I can't update windows or use download anything/update the Microsoft store as if i don't have Internet connection, although i can surf the net with no problems and even install steam or whatever on the net. i think this ( _!<Doctype) after my laptop model name is cause windows updates not to properly recognize my system and thus preventing me from necessary and important updates. Hi,

Thanks for the screenshot.

Did you send your notebook back to repair before that problem started?

No the laptop was refurbish and I think the _<!Doctype was possible intentionally modify into the system information in the bios for whatever reason by the previous owner or owners. I brought it off of Amazon

As far as I know, we don't allow customers to modify that field, so wondering if the problem may have happened during refurbishing if it didn't go smoothly.

If you don't mind to send me a PM with the serial number, would like to check if the refurbishing department replaced any hardware that may be related to that issue.

Otherwise, there are software things that can be tried, but not sure if they can always solve this issue, so if you still have the option to return or exchange it with the reseller you may want to consider that unless your would rather send it to ASUS repair before the warranty expires.

If you check, Windows Updates may not be working either and may be giving you the same error code as when you try to access Microsoft Store.
