As far as I know, we don't allow customers to modify that field, so wondering if the problem may have happened during refurbishing if it didn't go smoothly.
If you don't mind to send me a PM with the serial number, would like to check if the refurbishing department replaced any hardware that may be related to that issue.
Otherwise, there are software things that can be tried, but not sure if they can always solve this issue, so if you still have the option to return or exchange it with the reseller you may want to consider that unless your would rather send it to ASUS repair before the warranty expires.
If you check, Windows Updates may not be working either and may be giving you the same error code as when you try to access Microsoft Store.
