Unusable ROG X13 GV302-XV with only 5 days from unboxing it

Tulius
Level 7

Received this gorgeous machine past monday, Sept 16th....

At first it was all happiness....until in one of many reboots because of software update (including BIOS), noticed that there were some reboots caused by a BSOD...

THen, worst came when Installed Far Cry 4 and Fall Out 4... Initially they even started...double click and NOTHING! Then, playing...the game suddenly DISAPPEARED! Check the Task Manager and no traces at all...

Tried using the machine for 2 days and decided to run a clean install from the same windows...ERRORRR!!!!!!!!! I almost lost the computer, because of received about 10 BSODs in the installation process!!
By thursday, finally Windows went up and decided to leave it with no SW installation...only basic config....

Today, Sunday 22nd, I have a very nice and expensive of paper press, because my Windows only works for 1 minute and then again a BSOD...
Now I remember that on Friday I wasn't even able to log in...Windows was telling me that because of the many reboots, needed me to have the computer Powered On for at least 2 hs to allow me to log in....HOW COULD I!!! Windows only lasts 1 min and then, BSOD and so and so and so...

It's a shame, but please reconsider ASUS gaming laptops... I´ve seen lots of forums complaining about the same issue...BAD BIOS and Asus not allowing us to go back to a previous bios...

What would support do?

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Based on your description, you mentioned that you are still encountering BSODs even during the reinstallation process. Since this is a brand-new device and if you are still within the return period, we recommend that you contact the retailer for further assistance to ensure your rights are protected. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

Bought in in NewEgg to HIDevolution. But now I'm not in USA, so I can't return it that easy. WOuld love a solution. Bios 317 was unstable as well.

Thank you for your reply. You mentioned that the BSOD issue persists even after reinstalling the system. I would like to confirm whether you have added or replaced any SSD/RAM. Please try restoring the hardware to its original state and use Cloud Recovery to test if the issue improves. Thank you.

NO changes on the HW and in terms of SW, only the Sw that is bundled inside. Haven't even tested the Stylus yet.

What I can say is that the very first day when using it regularly and both My Asus and Windows updat were installing lots of software, one of the Sw that asked me to reboot and then change it all was the BIOS. I remember checking that at receiving it had 313 and now ot has 317.

I would like to confirm whether you are still experiencing BSOD after performing the Cloud Recovery to reinstall the system. If the BSOD issue persists, could you please share the error message or a screenshot with us? Thank you.

Will try Cloud Recovery if Windows won't BSOD before. Will Cloud Recovery install a new BIOS?

Cloud Recovery is only for system reinstallation and will not affect the BIOS. The above information is provided for your reference. Thank you.

Ok, will try this. One question: How can I revert the Bios to 313. Seen reportedly that this one is full operational

After using Cloud recovery, is everything functioning normally now?

Since BIOS updates primarily optimize certain system bugs, we do not recommend rolling back the BIOS to avoid potential issues. Thank you for your understanding.
