Unacceptable Charges for ROG Flow Z13 Keyboard Defect - A Widespread Manufacturing Flaw

Hello everyone,

I’m posting this to bring attention to a significant issue with the ROG Flow that many users, including myself, have encountered. The problem lies in the keyboard, which stops functioning correctly when the magnetic section is attached to the screen. This is not an isolated incident but a widespread defect affecting numerous ROG Flow devices.

What’s particularly frustrating is that despite this being a clear manufacturing flaw, ASUS is charging customers for the repair. This is unacceptable. A defect like this should be fully covered by ASUS, regardless of the warranty status, as it’s clearly a design or production issue that impacts the usability of the device.

I urge ASUS to take responsibility for this defect and stop charging customers for repairs that should be covered under any reasonable warranty policy. This is not just a minor issue, it’s a fundamental flaw that needs to be addressed properly.

If anyone from ASUS is reading this, please take note. This situation needs to be rectified immediately, and affected users should not be bearing the cost of a known defect.

It's only a problem in terms of ASUS making it one, they just make you go through the full RMA process but it comes down to consumer law in your country, I took it to the repairer, they took and replaced the keyboard immediately for free, and did not need or keep the tablet throughout the process.

ASUS just needs to communicate better.

I agree, my keyboard broke one month out of warranty, and the replacement cost me £125.58 and took 20+ message exchanges and several months to simply find a way to buy the replacement.  It is a clear design flaw, and a failure of after sales support.  ASUS should do better if they want to maintain a good reputation.  Just adding this keyboard as a separately purchasable accessory at a reasonable price would have made the situation easier to accept.

Do you not have consumer laws or warranties in your country?  How did the RMA process not work?
