Hello,
I’m experiencing a persistent hardware-level issue on my ROG Zephyrus M16 (GU603ZE). The USB-C/Thunderbolt port has stopped functioning — it does not charge the laptop, output display, or detect connected devices.
In Device Manager, the “UCM-UCSI ACPI Device” consistently shows:
Status: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43)
Error: UCSI PPM failed UCSI command – Command: Get Connector Capability Status:0xC0000001
Troubleshooting already performed:
BIOS is up to date (version 311)
Full EC reset (power button hold for 60s)
Reinstalled Intel Chipset, Serial IO, MEI, and DTT drivers
Tested Lenovo Thunderbolt dock on another system (confirmed working)
I believe the UCSI firmware or Thunderbolt controller may have failed or become corrupted. Could you please advise on whether this requires a firmware patch or hardware replacement?

Based on your description, you have already reinstalled the relevant drivers and performed an EC reset.
We'd like to check whether you've also tried restoring the BIOS to its default settings as part of your troubleshooting?
If the issue still persists after restoring the BIOS defaults, we recommend sending your device to a local service center for further hardware diagnostics to accurately identify the problem. Thank you for your understanding.

Hello,
I, too, am experiencing the same problem on my ASUS ROG STRIX, which started about 2 to 3 days ago. And I have tried all the said, things listed by vARi and Anbby_ROG. I also restored my computer to a date prior than 2-3 days ago, wondering if it was Windows update but that did not fix the problem either.

If you have already tried the troubleshooting steps mentioned above and the issue persists, we recommend that you send the laptop to a local service center for further testing to clarify the problem. Thank you.
