My Windows 11 update stopped working in tablet mode, and the screen stopped rotating and the Touch Screen stopped working. Tablet mode also disappeared from the settings. [As if it were no longer a tablet notebook]
Model Rog Flow X13. GV301RE.
I checked the Device Manager and there is an error with an AMD I2C drive.
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
HID descriptor request failed.
Class GUID: {745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da}
The tablet function no longer appears in the control panel.
The function to generate the screen still appears, but obvious attempts to enable and disable it do not solve it:
IMPORTANT POINTS:
I could not find the AMD I2C DRIVE.
I checked in the Device Manager and there are two AMD I2C drives.
The first one controls the touchpad, since I disabled and enabled it, and the one that disables it is the touchpad.
The second one is what's causing the problem, and I've already tried uninstalling, installing, updating, but the error REMAINS.
Class GUID: {745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da}
Files and values in the Registry Editor inside the folder:
ANOTHER IMPORTANT POINT:
I checked on the ASUS website [ https://rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-flow/rog-flow-x13-2022-series/helpdesk_service_guide/ ], a Firmware update from the year 2023, which would be for the touch screen, apparently this already caused a problem in 2023.
I installed it, but it gave ERROR, it didn't solve it.
IN SUMMARY:
Windows updated automatically [while the lid was closed, I don't know if that influenced it], I was using it in closed lid mode connected to a monitor, I turned it off, turned it on, and the Touch Screen stopped working, I went to check if there was something wrong in the device manager, and I found this AMD I2C driver error. I've already searched the entire internet to solve this drive error or solve the Touch Screen problem and NOTHING, no solution.
ATTEMPTS TO SOLVE IT [and they didn't work].
Reinstalling drives, didn't work.
Formatting Windows, didn't work.
Restoring Factory Settings, didn't work.
Resetting the BIOS, didn't work.
Updating BIOS, didn't work.
Updating Windows, didn't work.
Contacting ASUS, useless, didn't solve anything.
Several obvious attempts in Windows, didn't work.
also checked the hardware, cables and connectors, they are working normally, I rule out the possibility of a hardware defect.
Does anyone know what can be done, how to solve it? Because they basically killed my notebook, turned an incredible notebook into a normal notebook, with an update.
How could I find this drive? How to solve this?
I checked with several people with the same problem, with 2-in-1 notebook models, tablet notebook, the same brand, and different brands.
System information
*BIOS is already updated.
