Hello, I have a question regarding the Asus ROG Strix G513 computer
My computer has only 8 RAM and I recently added 16 RAM and now I have 24 RAM, which means (8 original RAM + 16 RAM that I purchased)
I also added a 1 TB M.2 hard disk
My first problem is that after the upgrade, the computer started booting slowly, taking 8.1 seconds
My second problem is that the bottom of the computer has become a little hot, a little to the point of being ineffective, but before upgrading the computer I did not suffer from this thing, knowing that when the laptop fan is running there is no heat.
RAM/Hard Disk from Crucial Company
Does anyone have an idea or solution to this problem?
Also, another side question: When I disassembled the computer, I noticed that there was a cover on the original hard disk from the company and a cover on the RAM as well. What is the reason for their presence?
I will attach a picture of them below if possible

Hi @NGoffy_7 ,
During the boot-up process, the BIOS reads hardware devices, and the installation of an additional 16GB of memory does indeed increase the boot time. This is because the BIOS needs to scan and identify all installed hardware, and having more memory capacity may require additional time.
Furthermore, regarding the thermal pads and absorbers covering the SSD and RAM, these are in place to prevent overheating and shield signals to avoid interference. Therefore, I recommend that you continue to install these thermal pads and absorbers after the hardware replacement to ensure the proper functioning of the system and to prevent issues such as overheating and other abnormalities. Thank you for your understanding .

Computers perform better when the memory modules in the slots are the same.

Is it possible for a delay of 4 to 5 seconds to occur? Does this mean this is normal?

If your computer runs a memory check every time you start it, it may be so.

Thank you for your answer
First, let's talk about the first problem. I understand that increasing RAM leads to an increase in boot time, but is 8.1 seconds considered normal? Or is there a problem that needs to be solved?
If this is normal, I have no problem with the boot time being 8.1 seconds.
In addition, while I was searching for a solution to this problem, I read information that after a period of time the computer gets used to the new RAM and the boot time becomes shorter than before. Is this information correct?
Thank you and I apologize for taking so long, but I feel confused when I encounter a problem with my computer and I cannot solve it.

In the BIOS, there is often a fast boot option (no memory test).

Are there any drawbacks or problems with turning off this feature?

In my opinion, there isn't.

I will try that, thank you
