stuttering video playback

Ever since I got this g14, I have had random intermittent stuttering on video playback, whether it be streaming or VLC player.  It will cause the video to blank out, and I have to re select the streaming window.  In VLC player's case, i have to restart the video.  I read somewhere this is due to a BIOS problem that is cycling the GPU usage wrong.  Is this true?  Do we have a fix?

The random black screen and stuttering issues during video playback that you described may be related to the GPU auto-switching mechanism. We recommend checking whether your laptop’s BIOS has been updated to the latest version and whether the display driver is the one provided on our website. If you installed the driver from the graphics card manufacturer’s website, we suggest uninstalling it and then installing the display driver from our website. Thank you.
