Hello everyone,
I'm having an intermittent problem where my G733PZ randomly shuts down while idle. It happened again just a little while ago. I was browsing the forum when my Bluetooth keyboard (Logitech G915) stopped working, but my wired mouse (Logitech G502) still worked. Shortly after, the laptop displayed the shutdown animation on the keyboard, where the keys briefly flash red, and then the laptop restarted.
I've had this problem since day one with the device, although it wasn't an issue for a while. Now it happens every two days. This laptop is currently replacing my desktop for a while because my desktop is broken, and I don't want to deal with it.
The problem must be software-related, specifically in the BIOS, because I can play VR chat with VR and full body mode for several hours without it shutting down. Under this load, the CPU reaches 97°C, but it runs fine. The game is really pushing the laptop to its limits.
The notebook is still under warranty until April 2026, and I've always hoped that ASUS would release a fix. I don't really believe it's a hardware defect. There was a BIOS update recently that addressed ACPI, and I was hoping it would fix the problem. Unfortunately, it didn't.
I uninstalled Windows 11 at its release because I was experiencing freezes with Explorer. I then ran Windows 10 on the notebook until early 2025, and since around April/May, I've been using Windows 11 24H2.
I also don't have Armory Crate installed, I use G-Helper.
I also switched to dedicated GPU in the BIOS, which reduced the problems somewhat. My suspicion is that there's a BIOS-related issue with the voltage settings, because otherwise, the notebook wouldn't still perform the LED animation during a crash, and the mouse was still working during my last crash.
The notebook is equipped as follows
Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 G733PZ BIOS Version 336
AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX
Nvidia GeForce 4080M 12GB
2TB Samsung NVMe 4.0
32GB DDR5 4800 (2x16GB)
I have changed:
2nd SSD WD Black SN7100 2TB
96GB DDR5 5600 (2x 48GB 5600C46)
SN RANRKD01404XXXX
I am looking for help on how to resolve this problem. Or how to get Asus to finally fix it, because the internet is unfortunately full of these kinds of problems. I find it hard to believe it's a hardware defect.

If the issue persists after confirming the BIOS update, to rule out whether the problem is caused by a system malfunction, we recommend that you back up your data and restore the system before further use. If the problem still cannot be resolved, we suggest sending the laptop to a service center for further inspection.
The following is the contact information:

Also you can contact the local service center for help.

Bios Update was not helpfull, iam very sure its a problem with the Energy stuff but i cant force the error, 10 Minutes Ago, i got the same error.
I was playing Drive Beyond Horizon, my character was nonstop running, i was press W before my G915 lost connection, many seconds later the laptop doing a hardreset, Before the reset was come i can control my character with the Mouse for look around.
Its a very curious Error
Im really reluctant to send my notebook in for repair, it looks brand new. At the beginning of 2025, I bought a new X870 Pro Art motherboard, which had problems with the fan curves. I sent it to ASUS and received a destroyed motherboard back. It looked like it had been dropped, even though the one I sent in was new and had only been used for about two weeks.
