Laptop G814JZ current bios version 318 JUST STOP OKAY !? bios should be optional not like driver update, at this point I am actually thinking about buying Lenovo products, so we people don't have to put up with how ASUS is becoming next anti-consumer company no wonder why J-2cents left, remember how EVGA left Nvidia.

Yeah you have  enhanced my frustration I tried you 321 again guess what it doesn’t work on your own memory kit that comes with the laptop the samsung 2x 8gb kit you know how it did work? since you forgot to pay your tester team here is the answer. Remove 1 rank and it will boot when you add the other stock samsung ram guess what infinite boot loop again (black screen PC trying to reboot itself every 2mins until it gives up) YES i reverted back to 318 guess what both stock memory booted right up less than 2 seconds and the 64GB Gskill 6400 cl 40 kit booted right up after 3 seconds of memory training. Another thing calmed up it was forcing to to upgrade to bios 321 come on ASUS Alest test your products what happened to the good old days like 2012 with g75 laptops fancy brush aluminum shell heavy duty like good old workbooks a true test of the times.

Thank you for your reply. Since the release of BIOS 321, we have not received any reports of boot issues related to using the original memory. We have tested the G814JZ with the original hardware configuration and updated it to BIOS 321, and it functioned properly. Your situation may be somewhat unusual, as using original hardware devices on different BIOS versions should not result in differences.If the abnormal behavior persists, we recommend sending your laptop for further diagnostic testing. 
Additionally, our testing indicates that the G814JZ supports a maximum RAM expansion of 16+16GB. We have tested this configuration for stability and compatibility. If you experience issues with higher specifications, we suggest switching to the recommended specifications. Thank you.

Really, I tested 321 with original ram that comes with the laptop, which is 2 x 8 Samsung 4800, it will not boot with both sticks in one with one. 318 original 2 booted fast and reinstalled 2x32 5600 g skill cl40 took 1 min memory training and booted right up after reinstalled. I am telling you something isn't right the reddit forums people has the same problem under 321. I am not saying your test is wrong either but this how things work in the real world either people don't know how to report the issue, or they rolled back plus most people that buys over $2500 know something in PCs. Others that buy this and use it for its intended purpose of game on the go they really don't care about swapping components or upgrades they play their games and don't care about how it performs as long the fps is high enough. Once they figure out that laptop gaming is worse choice they go back to consoles and handhelds on the go. Like Steam deck and Switch anyways thanks for the replies, I wait until next bios update plus whatever it's in 321 doesn't matter to me, I get over 30500 pts on multicore r23. and 825 on single and 14203 (CPU-Z) with super cool temperatures to the touch.

In my experience, when you do end up having to reboot (or shut down+start), it'll direct you to the BIOS to prompt starting the actual update. If you refuse it there a couple of times, Windows will stop pushing the BIOS update to you. The upside or downside is that if you do want to try a new BIOS version, you will probably need to go the ezFlash route rather than a Windows executable. Refusing to update in the BIOS can actually break the ability to update BIOS through any Windows tool, which is a fantastic feature.

This 'annoyance' for me was more on the Windows side because it did not tell me it wanted to do a BIOS update, just decided to reboot during active hours despite being told never to do that. Since I had other urgent stuff that needed doing at the time, I had to refuse updating. I tried to install the update later manually through Windows, it did not work. Well, that means I unintentionally run an old BIOS for a longer time.

You can always enable "Metered Connection" for your network, so your Windows updates will not be forced. But you will need to check and install updates manually. And after connecting to a new network you will need to enable Metered again.
