speaker issue on zephyrus G16 2024

hey everyone

I recently purchased a brand-new ASUS Zephyrus G16 laptop, and I’ve been encountering some speaker-related problems. Less than two months after purchase, the speakers have started making annoying noises.

Specifically, I’ve noticed the following issues:

  • Intermittent sound
  • Crackling or popping sounds

I’ve tried basic troubleshooting steps, such as checking connections and adjusting settings, but the problem persists. I believe this is a hardware issue, as it occurs across different applications and communication platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Skype).

Could you please advise me on how to resolve this issue? I appreciate your prompt assistance in ensuring that my laptop functions optimally.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hi @shahabgsm ,

Have you updated your BIOS version to the latest version 317 and removed and reinstalled the latest versions of audio-related drivers (as listed below) to test?

Additionally, have you tried connecting headphones or external speakers to see if the issue persists? Thank you.

To speed up issue identification, please provide the product model, BIOS, and driver versions, along with the troubleshooting steps you've already tried to avoid redundant checks.

Hi dear @Anbby_ROG ,

I’ve tried the suggested solution, but unfortunately, the issue persists. It now appears to be a hardware problem. Initially, the left speakers became noisy, and now the right ones are also affected. The only recent change was a BIOS update to version 317, but even after rolling back to version 313, the issue remains.

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi @shahabgsm ,

Thank you for your reply.
Based on your description, I would recommend taking the laptop to a local service center for further hardware diagnostics. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
