Sleep issue
Hi, is anyone else having issues with sleep mode? I have a Rog Strix 2023 edition. When I put it to sleep it's very hit and miss. I have turned off the lighting effects but there seems to be a bug where sometimes the RGB will flash for a second or two every now and again, or the laptop screen will be black but all the lighting comes back on and the indicator shows there's power. Other time it works perfectly. I have changed the power button / closing the lid to hibernate, but I am unsure whether to return the device? Cheers.

Hi @OnlyAlex ,
Based on your description, it is possible that there may be some incomplete sleep settings.
Additionally, please check if there are any running applications or ongoing downloads/updates, as these can potentially prevent your latop from entering sleep or hibernation mode.
Please refer to the following link for step-by-step instructions and explanations to ensure a successful entry into sleep mode.

Hi @Aaronick, the issue seems to be related to modern standby assist and there are plenty of videos on YouTube explaining that modern standby causes a number of issues. To get around this issue I have been setting the device to hibernate instead. (Apparently the issue is occurring with multiple different manufacturers).
Here is a relevant link for your information: https://youtu.be/iaVkv3LNCQ0
Hope that helps!

So you've been using hibernate, or have you been unplugging your laptop when you put it to sleep?
I'm dumbfounded that I paid so much for a laptop and it won't even awake from sleep. Ridiculous.
Thank you so much for the link and the information!

No worries mate, I know - it's really frustrating this issue, but I've gone through so many new laptops with faults - (HP BIOS updates on three new laptops corrupted it, new MSI laptop had a fault with the fan and Lenovo Legion wouldn't run Microsoft Teams), that as this isn't ASUS' fault I've had to settle with the workaround and realise that to me that this fault isn't as major as the other ones.
Unplugging the laptop before sleep does work most of the time, but I sometimes forget so I find it much much easier to just hibernate it. Sure, it takes a little while longer, but on our fast nvme drives, not very long.
Hope this helps mate.

I appreciate the candor and suggestions, friend. I'll probably just utilize hibernate as well until there's a sure fix.
