Did you mean:

screen is grayish and poorly saturated.

When I use integrated graphics, the screen goes gray. This is a bug that has appeared in the last few days.

I tried opening the intel graphics control center (IGCC) and selecting the default color configuration, and I was able to return to vibrant colors. But it goes gray again when I reboot or reload the screen (win+shift+ctrl+B).

Here are pictures of the comparison of the two colors.

Now I can confirm that the issue is highly related to driver ASUS System Control Interface v3. When I rolled back it from 3.1.29.0 to 3.1.27.0, it became colorful after restarting!

The path to find  ASUS System Control Interface v3: Device Manager -> System Device ->  ASUS System Control Interface v3.

Seeing this issue as well on my Flow X16 2023 (with Intel CPU)..... same "solution", even though it's not a solution. I did let Armoury Crate update a few modules in the last few days and updated the Nvidia drivers. I don't think there's a way to roll back the AC updates though, is there?

I rolled back drivers by downloading from the ASUS official website (I asked on MyASUS, and they sent me the link. Unfortunately, it didn't fit your version, but I think you can ask them for it), but it didn't help. And I forgot to post my laptop environment.

Hi @Enderturtle @Buzzy42 @butterspower @IcePanther ,

I'd like to confirm if this issue started recently.
Could you please enable logging in Armory Crate, reproduce the issue, and record a video? Please send the following information via private message so we can further investigate:

  • Serial Number:
  • BIOS Version:
  • Windows Build Version: (Settings -> System -> About)
  • Intel Display Driver Version:
  • ASUS System Control Interface v3 Version:

Thank you.

【Here is the file path for the log file for your reference】
In Armoury Crate "Settings" and check "About" page, If clicking App Diagnostics "Record Log", the Privacy Policy Statement will pop out. Once user agreed statement, the Armoury Crate will start to collect problem log  and you can click "Generate log data" to generate the log file with encrypted (ASUS log file).

Hi @Enderturtle @Buzzy42 ,

Please use this link to search for your laptop model and install the ASUS-verified display driver version to test if the issue improves. Thank you.

Just adding, when I start up my Flow, the screen looks perfect, and then Armoury Crate loads, pops up the "Default" Gamevisual indicator for a split second, ("Native - default vivid colors") and the screen goes very dull. So it looks like something in Armoury Crate is changing the colors after it loads, but I don't see any setting (and changing the color space settings for the laptop doesn't fix this).

It did not do this before a week or two ago, before I updated the components I listed above.

I am using the last available (and EXTREMELY dated) Intel drivers for the X16--31.0.101.4502, 6/15/23 (A year old! not acceptable, Asus! it's the one from the website posted in August 2023). I am not using the Nvidia GPU at all at this stage, so it seems like the Nvidia drivers aren't particularly relevant to this issue? This issue occurs just booting straight to the desktop, using the integrated graphics.

Same here on both a Strix G733CX and a Flow GZ301. After some windows update (or Armory Crate update ?), greyed colors on boot, or plug/unplug AC adapter.

Tried :
- updating to latest intel driver
- reverting to .4502 driver from Asus
- running DDU and trying again
going to the Intel display control panel and resetting color fixes it until GameVisual trashes the colors again on boot or power event.

Can confirm it's from Armory Crate : when uninstalled, problem disappears.

Same here on G16 (2024). If I go to intel graphics command center and reset the colors it fixes it, but as soon as I restart the laptop or change the game visual through the armory crate it reverts back to lower saturation

If you don't need gameVisual, you can disable it in the meantime, another user has a solution to patch it, and I just found also that you can just block the .dll from being executed using file permissions : Guide on how to disable GameVisual (June 2024) - Republic of Gamers Forum - 1023133 (asus.com)

This is only a workaround, though, not a fix. Also it doesn't help if you do use gameVisual.
