You could, but you wouldn't be utilizing the full speed of the 980 pro as your laptop supports pcie 3.0 NVMe ssd's.

If you already have it, by all means install it. If you haven't purchased it yet, I'd recommend the Samsung 970 Evo Plus to save a little.
