My S, Z, X keys are not working on my ASUS TUF Gaming A15 (2020) F506IH laptop. How can I fix this? I have tried reinstalling Windows and updating the BIOS. What could be the solution? Please tell me. I have seen many TUF users with the 2020 model having the same problem. Is it a software problem or hardware issue? Also, if I replace the keyboard, what is the price?

All the drivers are updated and the BIOS is 311, too. I'll have to contact the service center. 😞

You are probably right, but why just that model? Maybe some flawed keyboards got installed, maybe software brings it out. I don't know. If it's just software, then why am I having a Windows problem in linux? Worked great for more than a year, then boom. I'm just annoyed That I have to get another laptop so soon.

@garg18 I tried your fi- on my TUF Dash F15 and I'm afraid it didn't work, as you unfortunately seem to have discovered. Right now I can only type "s" because I rebound the Armoury Crate key to that character, and the keys for the letters missing in U-bekistan and e-plain do not work either. Sometimes "e" also fails, as does the key on the left of the last letter of the alphabet. Yes, this is pretty embarrassing, it's night-time and I can't go buy an e-ternal keyboard at the moment (:
Anyway: for the love of god Asus, even if you won't (or can't) permanently fi- the already failing keyboards in our devices (only replace them until they fail again), at least take note and avoid it in future products! This is 100% a hardware malfunction, some connector in most of the TUF series that eventually starts misbehaving after a few months or years of use, and once it busts, only works again briefly for a few minutes every now and then. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, especially ASUS themselves. No amount or combination of updating/uninstalling/rolling back/reinstalling of Windows/BIOS/drivers/graphics/ASUS services/firmware, laptop restarts or resets, keyboard cleaning, registry edits, keyboard troubleshooters, underclocking CPUs, changing battery/power configurations, stopping direct light from hitting the keyboard, disconnecting the power cord to avoid static, reducing the temperature, holding the power button to fully power down the system, or anything else I've tried for hours on end over the past week until the keys finally fully died today, will help. I thank everyone that have tried to help those e-periencing this by providing these potential fi-es, and probably others I have forgotten. It's precisely thanks to them that I can be so sure of it by now.
If your devices are still in warranty, take them to your original retailer (ASUS' policies for warranty claims demand you go through whoever originally sold you the device) for them to ship it to ASUS and get the keyboard replaced and working again; hopefully the second one will not end up having the same issue down the line, but I've seen people report it does eventually start happening again. I cannot do that, as right now my original retailer is in a different continent- but I hope that this frustration-fueled rant will help at least one person know for sure what's happening to their laptop.

Same problem here, model number FA506QR. Laptop is now just a paper weight. SZX only works sometimes if you press W at the same time. Using a seperate wireless keyboard with a laptop is like using a carving knife to butter bread. It just doesn't feel right because it isn't. Will not be buying another ASUS product. Extended the warranty to 2 years and 2 months after that expires this happens.

So, I found a fix to solve the problem with the Z S and X keys. And it's pretty radical. Rolling back to the recovery point, replacing all the drivers and trying to solve the problem in a technical way did not help me. My option is I just reset the computer to factory settings. Or, as my friend, the owner of exactly the same laptop with exactly the same problem, you can buy an external keyboard, and connect via USB, lol. A laptop with the word "gaming" in the name, I'll remind you.
UPD: IT IS BACK AGAIN. S Z and X keys is not working, even after hardreboot. There is nothing that you can do with that keys, only buying external keyboard. External keyboard. On laptop. GAMING laptop. Respect asus

Have the same issue with an FX706HM. Still no fix for the issue yet...thinking of replacing the keyboard but that's a service job as you can't find the parts to be able to fix it myself.
Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

Having this problem aswell on my Asus tuf A15 FA506ICB. i have tried all the solution like reinstalling driver , cleaning key but none of them works. Somehow S , X and Z key will only works when you press it together with W key. Its pretty frustrating when playing games and i cant use S key to move backward.
