[ROG Zephyrus M16] NVIDIA Control Panel Digital Vibrance Setting resetting to 75%.

Tranxalive

First, here's some system information:

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU

Display Driver: Game Ready Driver, Version 551.52

OS: Windows 10 Home, 64-bit (10.0, Build 19045)

I'll make it short, since I'm sure you don't want to read a long post:

As the subject says, the Digital Vibrance setting in the NVIDIA Control Panel keeps resetting to 75%. This happens whenever something enters fullscreen, and it is very annoying, especially when there's no borderless fullscreen option, which prevents that from happening. I have to Alt-Tab out, open the control panel, and reset the setting to 50%, because otherwise the colors look absolutely terrible, to be honest, I have no idea why there's even a setting to change the colors like that, because it just over-saturates the colors, and causes a large amount of artifacting. This used to never be a problem, but a few months back, the setting suddenly changed, and it's been like this since. I have no idea what's causing this issue, or why 75% is the default, but I'm annoyed enough by it now to finally ask for support.

Thank you for reading this, and hopefully there's a solution for this. And just in case you ask, no, I'm not going to install Windows 11, I had that installed as the default OS for my laptop, and I hated it, so I downgraded.

Hi @Tranxalive ,

I'd like to ask if your laptop model number is GU604VV? Have you used an external monitor?
Please try using the ASUS-validated NVIDIA Graphic Driver Version V31.0.15.2901 and ASUS System Control Interface v3 Version V3.1.22.0. Then, through Armoury Crate > GameVisual, adjust the color gamut and color temperature to suit your usage needs and see if there is any improvement. Thank you.

To speed up issue identification, please provide the product model, BIOS, and driver versions, along with the troubleshooting steps you've already tried to avoid redundant checks.

Thank you very much for your help. It seems the GameVisual setting was set to Scenery at some point, maybe during a Windows update. I wouldn't be surprised if it was, since one update re-enabled the very loud and startling boot-up noise.

I didn't think to check the Armoury Crate app, as I kind of forgot about it after I was done with the initial adjustments, and I don't like to fiddle with graphics settings too much. I've set it to Vivid for now, which looks great, but doesn't color things weird. Thanks for your help again, now I can finally stop resetting the settings constantly.

Have an awesome day. 🙂

Also, in case you were wondering, my model number is GU604VI. I had the ASUS System Control Interface installed, but not the NVIDIA Graphic Driver, which I installed just in case, after I fixed the issue.
