Rog Zephyrus g16 (2024) crashes when game is open

aureliokta
Level 7

Hi there, I recently bought this new Zephyrus g16, but always have the same issue when trying to play almost any game. (MS Flight SImulator, Modern warfare, ..)

I have had the computer for few days, and any time the gpu is under any type of load, the whole computer just show a BSOD screen. Some times I have to hold the power button, It will reboot as if I had shut it down.

I´ve tried to downgrade for the driver in the asus site. Windows is 24h2.

Mini dump:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If kernel debugger is available get stack backtrace.
Arguments:

Arg2: 0000000000000002, IRQL
Arg3: 0000000000000000, value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation

Thank you for providing detailed information. Based on the mini dump, the crash appears to be mainly related to Netwtw14.sys (Intel wireless network driver) and nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA graphics driver).

May I ask if you have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Intel wireless driver, and using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely remove the graphics driver before reinstalling the ASUS-verified NVIDIA graphics driver?

Additionally, could you confirm whether you have tested playing games or running high-load applications using both Wi-Fi and a wired network connection to see if the issue still occurs?

If you have Hyper-V, Windows Sandbox, or WSL2 enabled, please try disabling them and rebooting your system before testing game stability again. Thank you.

To speed up issue identification, please provide the product model, BIOS, and driver versions, along with the troubleshooting steps you've already tried to avoid redundant checks.
