ROG Zephyrus G14 OLED Nebula 14" clicking mechanical noises

Hi folks,

My laptop, less than a year old, started making these noises last night. I've still got warranty but since I use this laptop for my daily work, I wonder if it might be a quick fix I can perform at home, like cleaning the dust out and maybe adding a drop of grease to the fans or something along those lines. I really can't be without the laptop for a long time.

Here's a link to the noise recording:

The abnormal noise you are experiencing is more likely related to a hardware issue.
If the sound is also present during diagnostics, we still recommend bringing your laptop to a service center for further inspection.

Based on the situation you described, we recommend referring to the following FAQ for troubleshooting.

Thanks, I cannot run the windows diags since I am on Linux, but I have run the fan diags in the BIOS and they pass (all the while the fans are making those sounds).

I noticed that if I keep the laptop off, then turn it on with only battery power or USB-C power, the noise doesn't start and everything works, but whenever I have the largu PSU (with the square connector) plugged in, the noise is there. I have two PSUs and both have the same effect, so it's not a bad PSU for certain.

Thanks, I sent it in for repairs. Hope it won't take 3 weeks like they said...
