I have excellent signal I am close to my router I have other machine that ping 20ms steady and solid my ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 (2023) ping to my local router (with no applications running and no connection to the web) gives me between 200ms and 300ms varying constantly. it does not seem to matter what channel I am on my other machines here have no issue. the ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 (2023) is brand new and its drivers are updated.
Is there a way to reset the Media Tek 7921? OR where can I find firmware to flash overtop of what is running on it now which is 3.3.2.803

Hi @arcticcorey ,
May I inquire about the methods you are using to test network latency issues? Would you be able to share relevant test results with us for further confirmation?
I'd like to verify whether you are simultaneously using Bluetooth devices such as a mouse or keyboard. Could you please disconnect the Bluetooth device(s) and test to see if it reduces the ping latency issue?
Additionally, are you utilizing the Turbo mode in Armoury Crate? Kindly attempt to use Turbo mode to test if it can improve this situation. Thank you.

Hello Anbby
I used a ping to local router. I used wifi analyzer on a phone near the ROG and near a Surface and near the TP Link router to be sure each area was clear. The Surface Book 2 had perfect pings to the router as in the latency did change the Rog latency changed from 2 ms to as high as 300ms mostly with packets in the 200ms range. The Surface did not have a single packet over 4ms mostly they are 2ms..
I blocked the router from Internet access so I knew there where no other processes I could not see that might be causing additional traffic.
pinging the Surface from the Rog (they are right beside each other) the Rog would have 200ms replies the Surface would have 2ms replies. so whatever is happening is between the network driver and the Rog OS (Win11).
with respect to access to Internet when WAN is active on the router -->
my vpn tunnels break constantly on the Rog. my vpn tunnels are rock solid do not break on the Surface.
I get packet loss on the Rog occasionally but to the same site with the same application my Surface has no packet loss..
I have SSL VPNs and IPSec VPNs on both machines in constant use.
I am migrating from my Surface Book 2 to my new Rog Zephyrus dual 16. I do work with space agencies so this Rog must work perfectly.
I am a network engineer.
I rolled back the MediaTek driver to 3.3.2.757 this helped but did not fully fix the issue.
I just disabled bluetooth lets see if that helps more

Hi @arcticcorey ,
Thank you for providing detailed information.
If you are experiencing latency issues even when using Turbo mode in Armoury Crate and have already disabled Bluetooth, please let me know. I will proceed to collaborate with the relevant teams to further investigate your issue. Thank you.

Hello,
I do not want to always be running in Turbo mode as I am on my machine 10 to 12 hours every day.. Bluetooth on or off does not have an effect on this.
It might not sound like much but my surface book 2 gets 1ms to 2ms sustained pings my ROG gets 4ms to 5ms sustained pings and is consistent only if I stay in Turbo mode. Is this a Windows 11 issue?
Why does the ROG have higher latency than the much older Surface Book 2 ?

Hi @arcticcorey ,
Please try disabling" the option to turn off WiFi to save power" to see if it can help improve this situation (Path: Control Panel - Network and Internet - Network Connections - Select WiFi - Properties - Configure - Power Management).
If the issue persists, could you please test the ping latency situation while using the network (such as streaming a video online)?
It would be great if you could record a video of this scenario so that we can further investigate your usage pattern. Thank you for your cooperation.

There is no Power Management option to select from. There is a property called Power Data which is set to D0
All and any help deeply appreciated.
