Help please.
I have just purchased the ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 (2023) and after a week or so started to freeze on Windows startup and a couple of times on shout down. All drivers were updated and also ran hardware checks as well as a memory diagnostic check. No problem here. The notebook works fine when it gets through the initial startup and can work on it for hours with no problems.
Has anybody an idea on what it could be?
Many thanks!!!

It's probably a main board swap, they are not firmware engineers so they will swap as many parts as they want and call it a day. Still, it is very unlikely for this to be a hardware batch problem considering that these laptops were doing just fine until now, I am personally reverting back to bios 311 and giving it a try.

Hi @ARC7 、 @Jonnyrad 、 @nietonchique ,
I would like to clarify this issue .May I confirm if you have recently updated Windows or other drivers.
Additionally, could you please provide the version of the Windows update and the graphics card driver version?
This information will help us further investigate the problem. Thank you.

In terms of drivers` versions I can say I tried all sorts of venues before sending it in assistance. The ones recommended by Asus support would make my display flicker and therefore I found by downloading an AMD hardware scanner drivers that solved the flickering issue. This scanner updated the AMD integrated graphic card as well as the chip. However the windows freeze problem was still there. Also, I tried at least 4 types of RTX 4090 drivers (gaming and studio drivers) but nothing, windows would still freeze. I did wipe windows completely and reinstalled from the notebook drive as well as from the cloud. Here too, nothing. Still freeze! @ARC7

I am on Windows version 22H2. The Nvidia driver is 535.98. I always try to update these regularly. There has been two updates to the BIOS since I have had the laptop which is strange because I previously owned the 2021 Zephyrus Duo 15 SE for two years and never had a BIOS update on it. From memory, it wasn’t freezing before the first BIOS update, but started sometime after this but I can’t be 100% certain.

@DomenicoDentice Sorry but it's seems like a beautiful mistake that ASUS updated the repair progress by mistake. Upon communication, their CS told me there are other reports were made in other areas. They are still working to figure what is the issue. So I cannot collect my laptop today.

Thanks for the update! Good luck and let`s keep on updating each other as we are doing...

Sorry to hear this buddy but thanks for the update. I think that it is more likely to be a software/firmware issue rather than a hardware issue. Let’s hope they can figure it out ASAP.

@Jonnyrad I think so. As their CS told me the technicians checked my laptop and found no issues arising from the hardware, that's why they want to keep my laptop to look into the matter deeper. Also, as similar to others, they asked me if I connect my laptop to a external monitor

Bios 311 freezes just the same, I will try to get the original one that shipped with the laptop.
