ROG Strix Scar 17 (2023) G733PZ-LL023W nvidia driver problem after sleep mode.

Level 8

OG Strix Scar 17 (2023) G733PZ-LL023W with an external screen connected try HDMI. Set to use only dGPU in Armory Crate (Ultimate mode).

After the Windows 11 23H2 update (22631.2715) I noticed that the laptop is not waking up after going to sleep (or just turning the screen off when idle).

So: I get this message in the log: The system session has transitioned from 24 to 25. Then after I tried to wake up the laptop: The description for Event ID 14 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

Eventually after tons of key presses, it woke up and obviously, that graphic driver crashed (all YouTube screens went black, and everything that is using GPU for rendering crashed (Discord for example). And I got a message in the log: Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

I disabled modern standby to test, but even without it, it crashes the same way. After reboot it works for like 2-3 sleeps, then the driver crashes again. The driver version is the latest available: 546.17, all Windows updates after 23H2 is installed, latest BIOS is also there.

GPU is working perfectly I think. I can game for hours, can run any graphics test for hours without any problems, it only occurs when the laptop goes to sleep (or the screen is off) from a locked screen.

I tried to remove the driver with DDU and reinstall it, not helping. I can try to rollback the 23H2, but I don't want to do this. Maybe there is some solution to this problem without rollback?
