Hello i have a new laptop mentioned above (4090 + 7945hx3d), i noticed that after updating the nvidia driver (now it is 566.14) it occurs freezes (about 2s) when switching from iGPU to dGPU - only in automatic mode advanced optimus, does not occur in optimus mode. From what i have read, the problem has already been solved with the driver version 565.90. My question is why in the current version 566.14 it still occurs with me and how to remedy it. Does anyone else have this problem with the latest driver version?
Second thing..
On the one hand, in the driver 565.90 there is information about the solution to the problem:
Fixed General Bugs:[Advanced Optimus] Asus ROG notebook screen freezes when switching from iGPU to dGPU [4849577]
On the other hand, nvidia reports that this is normal:
https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5097/~/nvidia-advanced-optimus-overview
"The display screen may appear to be frozen for a few seconds when the display is switched between integrated and discrete GPUs (may take longer on Windows 11)."
And yet on previous versions of the driver nothing like this happened 🙂
Kind regards

It is indeed normal for a 3 to 5 seconds buffer time to occur when the dynamic display switch automatically switches between integrated graphics and GeForce discrete graphics, causing a brief black screen and flickering. This is not an issue.
May I ask if you have tested using the NVIDIA Graphic Driver Version V31.0.15.4609 verified by ASUS?

The drivers were updated with NVIDIA app.
Since you say that such a situation is normal (I am able to understand this according to the information in nvidia support) please explain to me why nothing like this happens in Optimus mode, yet there is also switching of gpus.
On my previous HP omen laptop (gtx1650 + Intel 630) there were no stops.
I talked to a colleague (3050ti + Iris) and something like this does not occur with him either.
(On the above laptops there is no Optimus option available I don't know why, only automatic mode and NVIDIA GPU only)
So I do not know why this situation is described as normal and not applicable to all laptops.

In Optimus mode, the graphics card automatically switches between the integrated GPU and the dedicated GPU. When using the dedicated GPU, the display is still routed through the integrated GPU, and the switching process typically does not cause screen freezing.
Advanced Optimus is a new technology where, when switching to the dedicated GPU, the display is directly output from the dedicated GPU without passing through the integrated GPU. This improves performance, but the switching process may cause a brief screen freeze as the system needs to reconfigure the display output path.
Hope this information is helpful. Thank you.
