Rog Strix G834JY shutting down while gaming

dmhofmeyr

My laptop randomly shutsdown while playing graphically intense games. No warning, no overheating and no shudown process... just boom...  fade to black. This seems to occur particularly with newer games that use Unreal 5 and up or when there is a lot of white on screen in older games

Please help.

Hi @dmhofmeyr ,

Have you updated the BIOS version to the latest version 328 and tested with the ASUS-verified NVIDIA Graphic Driver Version V31.0.15.4624 and Intel Graphic Driver Version V31.0.101.4502?

Please try setting the GPU in Armoury Crate to either Ultimate or Standard mode and set the fan mode to Turbo during gaming. This will help test if there is any improvement. Thank you.

Uopdates done and its even worse. Laptop now shuts off as soon as the game starts.

It seems to be particulalry common in games that use Unreal 5+
