Hello,
I purchased this laptop ( ROG Strix G713PV_G713PV ) just a week ago. I did all the updates necessary at the initial boot. also downloaded just two games to test the computer. I did face these random restarts for 4 times now. I did read previous posts in here regarding this but could not post on them as they were locked thats why I am opening this new thread. Is there a solution for this? should I just return the PC and buy something else? Please advise, thank you in advance.

May I ask if you have tried using the ASUS-verified NVIDIA driver version V32.0.15.5597 and the AMD graphics driver version V32.0.11002.41?
If you have already used these driver versions and the issue persists, and since you mentioned that the device is newly purchased, if it is still within the return period, we recommend contacting the retailer for further assistance to ensure your rights. Thank you.

"I forgot to mention that when my PC starts in Safe Mode, it works fine and doesn’t restart. However, in Safe Mode, I'm unable to use other services or apps."

Very sad to hear. Its quite the surprise and the disappointment to see ASUS letting their customers down and not taking any care of the issues they are facing. This was my first time buying an ASUS and certainly the last. I returned the laptop, thankfully. I would not and will not recommend ASUS to anyone.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Since the G731GT is an earlier model, could you please share the following information with us so we can perform further checks?
You mentioned that there are no issues in Safe Mode. Could you confirm if you've tested using the ASUS-verified graphics drivers? Does the random restart issue occur under specific software or usage scenarios?
Thank you for your cooperation.

System Information:
- **BIOS Version:** 308 (from 1st image)
- **Windows Build Version:** 26100.2605 (from 2nd image)
- **GPU Drivers:**
- NVIDIA Graphics Driver: 30.0.15.1278 (from 1st image)
- Intel Graphics Driver: 25.20.100.6617 (from 1st image)
I’ve attached screenshots showing the drivers (via GHelper) and the installed Windows version for reference. All drivers have been updated using the official website (mentioned in the 3rd image).
Steps Taken:
1. Updated all drivers and applied all available Windows updates.
2. Tested with and without my separate SSD – the issue persists.
3. Reset and formatted the PC, reinstalled drivers, and applied all Windows updates – the problem remained.
4. Observed that the issue occurs when opening the Armoury Crate app, causing sudden restarts.
5. Followed all troubleshooting steps mentioned in the threads, but the issue wasn’t resolved.
Temporary Fix Identified:
- After resetting the PC and pausing all Windows updates, I manually updated all drivers. During this time, the PC worked fine with no sudden restarts.
- However, Windows automatically applied "Virus & Threat Protection Updates" even though updates were paused. This re-enabled Windows Defender's real-time protection, and the sudden restarts returned.
- Disabling the following in Windows Defender prevented the restarts:
- Real-Time Protection
- Dev Drive Protection
- Cloud-Delivered Protection
- Automatic Sample Submission
- Tamper Protection
With these settings off, the PC worked fine for a week, even while playing the same games that previously triggered restarts. Unfortunately, Real-Time Protection automatically turns back on occasionally, and the restarts resume.
This issue seems to be software-related, specifically tied to Windows updates and Windows Defender's Real-Time Protection. Provide an exact and suitable solution for this.

Based on the information you provided, each sudden restart triggers a Kernel-Power Event ID 41 error, which is typically related to hardware issues. Could you confirm if you have run the R23 stress test on a clean system installation to see if the system remains stable? Thank you.

Thank you for your suggestion. Yes, the R23 stress test runs properly after resetting the PC (see the screenshot below). To ensure system stability, I paused all Windows 11 updates and disabled Windows Defender (refer to the second screenshot).
However, when real-time protection is enabled in Windows Defender (as shown in the second screenshot), the system encounters the Kernel-Power Event ID 41 error, and the PC suddenly restarts.

Thank you for your response! Have you tried running the same tests on a Windows 10 system to determine if this issue is specifically related to Windows 11 compatibility?
Additionally, please try adjusting the power settings by switching to the High Performance mode and disabling power-saving features to see if this improves the issue. Thank you.

I’m experiencing the same issue with my G731GT laptop. The random restart problem has been occurring since May of last year. Initially, I thought it was a hardware issue, so I tried everything: replaced the SSD, removed the extra internal hard drive, changed the RAM, reset and formatted the PC over 100 times, installed every update, and even switched to Linux. After formatting, the restarts stopped temporarily, but when I applied Windows updates again, the restarts resumed. I also took it to multiple repair shops, and they all confirmed there’s no hardware issue.
The problem worsens when I use apps like Arma Create—it causes sudden restarts. I can’t browse or game without interruptions because the PC restarts randomly while working.
Two weeks ago, I stumbled upon this thread and realized the issue might be related to ASUS software. It’s been incredibly frustrating, to the point that I’m considering buying a new PC. While I can handle some errors, the random restarts make this laptop nearly unusable. I’ve gone through all the suggestions in previous threads, but the problem persists. Each sudden restart triggers a Kernel-Power Event ID 41 error.
After more than a year, they still haven’t fixed this issue. I’ve done all the updates, but the problem remains unresolved, and now new devices are also facing the same issue. This situation is really bad.
