Hii,
I got default ram Samsung 16GB DDR5 4800MHz SODIMM CL40 in Rog Strix G614JZ model laptop. And I got researched a lot to be able to make a compatible upgrade. I know this PC can support max 64GB capacity. Finally, I've chosen Kingston FURY Impact 32GB DDR5 4800MHz CL38 for the second slot. But i couldn't boot the PC. Keyboard's RGB's coming on and fans are begining to spin but nothing on screen. Just black even if i wait for at least 5 mins.
The methods that I tried already:
I couldn't find anything that says I "cannot" do this upgrade as total 48GB = 16GB + 32GB for the 2 slots, just some on forums says that it'd "better" to use same Ram specs. in both slots such as the same DDR#, clock speed, and CAS latency. But, all of those says "eventually", there will be no issues for working. If any customer service agent can help me here, i appreciate a lot!

A 2x16GB memory kit is a matched set, two sticks tested and known to work together.
Example - Crucial RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) DDR5 4800MT/s CL40 Laptop Memory CT2K16G48C40S5 at Amazon.com
I sent this thread to cl-Albert, I can't say exactly when he'll respond.

Yeah also you can check this ASUS ROG Strix G16 G614JZ-N4043X RAM & SSD Upgrades site. There is a list of compatible memory kits. And you know what else there? Here Crucial 64GB Kit (2x32GB) DDR5-5600 SODIMM is also compatible with G614JZ.
Thanks for forwarding the thread to an agent. Eventually he'll respond, that's okay for me.

Hello,
Does the Crucial website say anything specifically about mixing two different memory IC? As this is what you are doing. It does state that it's compatible, as you have discovered with the Kingston branded module - just not in the configuration you're trying to run
Different latency, too. Hopefully, you can get a definitive answer, but I'd always recommend buying matched kits regardless. Can you confirm if the PN is KF548S38IB-32?

Hello Silent_Scone,
Well, not only I searched about mixing 2 different brand (means they have different type of integrated circuits and if possible mainly same DDR#, clock speed, and CAS latency) but also I and Moderator Nate152 talked about it, as well. I guess, we all can make a conclusion that "if possible" we should use exactly same brand and same specs 2 rams in both slots as a kit. But the problem is, what I'm saying, it is not possible for now.
No one, in the sites i searched, says mixing 2 different brands(have 2 different memory ICs) does not let the PC work. People say that bios would choose the lowest clock speed(in my case they're the same) with highest CAS latency(in my case they're 40-38, so it should be 40). But the laptop should work.
Yes I'm totally agree with your recommendation about buying matched kits. But the result i expect doesn't change. The laptop should work.
Yes I can confirm that i purchased Kingston FURY Impact 32GB DDR5 4800MHz CL38 KF548S38IB-32. And the defualt memory is in the picture here

Hey guys,
I found my own solution in a discussion that has taken place in another Turkish site, here, the guy there tried Cruical 32GB ram + 16GB Samsung(already installed with the model). And it worked!.
So I conclude this topic as solved with this reply, and suggest that the people who want to upgrade their Strix G16 2023 more than 32 GB, they should stick with Crucial only, unless they can find another approvement about other brands such as Kingston, Samsung, etc. I also wrote to Kingston but they said they don't test the computers and they don't take any responsibilities. Stick with Crucial guys!
Thanks,
Regards.

Thanks for confirming. The Crucial kit is a Micron-based kit, I'll see if we can get some clarity on the incompatibility.

Thanks for your effort, as well. " It seems Kingston + Samsung has something incompatibility in their curcuits or semi-conductor chips." This is what I've been told by my local Kingston seller. He told me that some notebook models places the slots in priorities accordingly. And wanted me to try 32Gb Kingston in 1st slot, 16GB Samsung in 2nd slot. But I've already tried all combinations. And Kingston didn't work with Samsung. I returned the Kingston to them. Next, I'll purchase Crucial and try it with Samsung. After I test it, I'll post it here.
Thanks @Nate152 , @Silent_Scone and @cl-Albert again.
